Troy was overrated because he had Irvin.

Irvin was overrated because he had Emmitt wearing down defenses.

Emmitt was overrated because of the offensive line.

The offensive line was pretty overrated because of the skill players.

The offense as a whole was overrated because of the defense.

The defense was overrated because the offense was great with TOP.

They won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years but there were no standout all time great teams... the 1999 Rams were better than any of those teams.

It wasn't a tough era.

Sincerely,
Haters everywhere

Jimmy Johnson was overrated because he had Jerry Jones.
Jerry was overrated because he owned the Cowboys.
The Cowboys were overrated because we were America's Team.
America's Team Slogan was overrated because we are on Earth.
And Earth is overrated because it's only the 3rd planet from the Sun.

But remember one thing our sun is a what? A STAR :starspin:

I post at another forum that has fans from all teams. According to other fans around the league, the 91 skins, 96 packers, 98 Broncos and 99 rams are all better.

That's a fan opinion and a lot of that is due to a bias against the Cowboys. You either love the Cowboys or hate them. You'll rarely if ever see the 91 skins ranked in the top 10 greatest teams and I have yet to see a top 10 ranking that includes the 96 Packers. If there is a ranking that includes them it's a ranking that can't be taken serious. It was the Cowboys and 49ers declining that finally put the Packers on top. None of those teams ever destroyed a team in the SB like the Cowboys destroyed the Bills.

One other note the 98 Broncos had an aging, over the hill Elway no way can they be ranked ahead of the Cowboys 92 team that had several future HOF players in the prime of their career. The 92 team was one of the youngest if not the youngest team in the league. The only thing that kept the Cowboys from getting even better and winning more championships was free agency that was robbing the team of their talent and the unexpected departure of Jimmy.

Hence the

"Sincerely, haters" at the end of the first post.

Emmitt certainly gave credit in a teary speech to Moose during his HOF ceremony.

Both helped, but I would say Moose had a bigger impact

I'm smokin' because I disagree with group thought and perception?

He had a good 4 year run, he lived off rep the rest of his career.

You have to be on drugs. Allen was one of the best to ever play the game. You can talk all the nonsense you want, it just diminishes your credibility.

He definitely was. He was already the best lineman in his second season and kept that title well into 2002. That's 8 years at 3 different positions, including left tackle.

Out of the two, Moose had a greater influence. Larry didn't come there until 1995 and by then Emmitt was a dominant runner.

But as so many said, I think Emmitt would have been great without either. Just a determination and will that was unparalleled. The only guy that could stop Emmitt was David Shula.
