Let’s see who’s right. I say Patrick Surtain.
Impossible to tell now. We still have an entire free agency period to go. That should tell a lot of which way we go
But from the 2,000 mocks I’ve seen it’s
1a - Caleb Farley
1b - Patrick Surtain
2 - Rashawn Slater
3 - Micah Parsons
Little to no chance but I’ve seen it
1 - Penei Sewell
2 - Kwity Paye
My guess is Denver jumps on Farleys athleticism and upside. We land Surtain and him and Diggs become an elite duo at corner
The highest rated player available on the Cowboys draft board. Hopefully it is a defensive player. NO TE.
With any luck another team will be desperate and call with a good trade offer and the Cowboys can move down (even if it's just a couple spots) and snag another day 2 draft pick.
Pitts or Farley If its Pitts Gallup has to go. Trade him for a defense equal.
My top 5 are Lawrence, Sewell, Chase, Wilson, and Pitts. Anyone of these guys available then that’s the pick.
My next 5 are Smith,Parsons,Surtain,Farley, and Waddle.
I’m ecstatic if I can get someone from the top 5.But happy to get any of the 10.
If by some miracle OT Penei Sewell drops to #10, Cowboys need to pick him up immediately.
If Penei Sewell is very likely gone, the Cowboys need to get a CB who has fast speed, good quickness, a good twitch/swively hips and excellent hands for INTs. It should be Farley.
If Farley is gone by the time the Cowboys pick at #10, trade down either with the Patriots at #15 (they need a QB) and get their late 2nd round pick for compensation...or trade down into the late teens or early 20s, pick up an extra late 2nd and possibly 4th.
Then use that traded down 1st round pick on someone like LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah or Zaven Collins. If either LB is gone, try to get DT Christian Barmore or one of the better O-Tackles available.
cb caleb farley,va tech

dt christian barmore,alabama
one of those 6 unless sewell were to fall.
free agency will narrow this list.
i think by draft night....its down to farley surtain or slater.
agree with your final projection.
Pity and Barmore I don’t see going top 10 or at 10. Parsons is a mixed bag who could go top 7 or slide to the teens.
Best guess is Farley, Surtain or Slater
i could see barmore rising before draft day.
he's got good tape.
i think the more teams spend time divin' in...the more they'll like.
paye and rousseau i think probably will go that high because you can never have enuff DEs and they usually start going early.
im not sure we take him because our DE group is pretty solid.
but if the corners, parsons and slater are gone...i wouldn't mind paye at all.
he's impressive to me.
i still think one of those corners is the pick.
Defense, if no one is worth the 10th pick, trade back.
Surtain and Farley are the only 2 defensive players worth the 10th pick
Throughout the process all we have seen has been Farley/Surtain or Slater. I am pretty confident one of the three will be Cowboys if no trade down occurs.
After what we saw last year with all the injuries up front, I think Slater is going to be the pick, makes too much sense.
1. Trade down
2. Trade down
3. Trade down
So my personal fan board is Surtain/Farley/Parsons. But thinking about it from Jerry's perspective...
-Drafting Parsons would admit that one of Jaylon or LVE is a failure. I don't think he's ready to do that.
-I don't think Jerry has nearly the aversion to drafting OL that some fans do. Offense and offensive stars sell tickets in Dallas and he finally learned that OLmen make his stars look good.
-Admittedly, one good thing about Jerry/McClay is that they usually don't reach. Ever since 2014, all of our early round picks have been arguably one of the 2 or 3 top rated players available at the time. Hill was the only player they got really cute on. Hell, even Taco wasn't really a reach - most of your draft pundits had him as a 1st/2nd talent (even though I hated his tape).
So if I had to guess, the Jerry Board at 10 is more like
Pitts is an elite talent that many believe is going to be a day 1 star. Talked about in the same breath as Kelce. You really think Jerry is going to take a corner if Pitts is on the board ?
I think it's Surtain, all the way
I think whoever it is will continue the incredible 1st round drafting streak the Cowboys are known for only on this site and will catapult us to the Super Bowl by making us legit contenders on offense or defense.
people will hate it until he have 90 yard and 2 td his first game
Pitts is what they thought They could turn Rico into.
Corner or OL if we stay at 10.
