No, I'm not just trying to stir up a hornet's nest. LOL. Just curious as to who would have preferred that direction, as opposed to Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett. Also, it's so funny how the Chargers get a pass on hiring Turner when we would have been roasted for doing the same thing. Any Cowboy coaching staff updates to report?

Chargers are a better team right now no matter who you hire. I wanted Phillips, I love his defense -- And sir, you're about to get toasted on this board. :)

Good luck!

Rex Ryan as our d-cord,. what hes done in Baltimore makes me wish i could have a poor mans version of that D during the playoffs but now we got Wade and Wade plus Ryan = super bowl imo

My, how quickly you forget...

Sure they are.

The problem exists in how much you are telling people they need to heed your thoughts when you have done little to defend them.

Repetitive theme threads combined with the hollow thump of the chest quickly turns people off.

Okay then, I'll try to keep that in mind.

I think Turner is a good fit for SD he goes to a team with the top RB in the NFL and a young star QB and I think his balanced attack with a timing based offense is a good fit with the players he has. In Dallas I think Phillips is what the doctor order we have a very bright defensive mind for a young talented group of defensive players we currently have.

Hands down, no contest, Wade Phillips, Jason, Garrett and Sparano, every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Should improve our defense and no reason our offense won't be as good or better.

Why? I had Turner and Phillips rated as about even in preference. I'm not saying we should have hired Turner, I was actually a Bob Stoops guy. Turner is inheriting a talented bunch. I'm hoping Dallas will be an opportunity for Phillips to shine. I see it as a better situation than he had at Buffalo or Denver. Toasted? I don't see why, but what happens happens.

Presently, I'm still worried about the offense, myself. I hope my concerns are unfounded.

how did you have them rated? like what was the scales you used, did you include wins and loses for post and regualr season, did you throw into acount how many games where lost by a field goal or less?

Because the board always toast you. ;)

Phillips can take this defense, and turn it loose on teams. Our offense doesn't have to put up 30 points a game. If we can put up 17 to 24 points a game, and have the best defense in the league, I smell super bowl for Dallas.

In Wade's first year?? I think you're getting ahead of yourself a bit.

I was hoping for Nate Scarborough...but hey it just did not come to that so no use of crying about it now.

We got Wade.

look what Sean did in his first year? they had far less talent then we did when he took over, so going to the super bowl is not thinking ahead of anyones self

I'm glad Jerry passed on Norval. How many chances does this loser get before these team owners figure out he can not win divisions, playoffs, or much less SB teams. If you want a .500 (or worse) than Norval definitely your guy.
Wade has yet to show us anything at this point. Let's hope Jerry keeps his paws out of the kitchen. LOL.

We clearly made out with the better coaching staff.

If we hadn't signed Wade, he would be the head coach at San Diego. So basically, Norv was the 2nd choice of both San Diego and Dallas.
