Many in the media as well as many football fans doubted weather Owens was really hurt with a hamstring injury or weather he was just faking an injury so he did not have to practice. Many people claimed he was a distraction for the team during the preseason.

My question is.......With Clinton Portis out, as well as Shawn Springs out due to injuries recieved during preseason, was it worth the risk to play your "superstars" in a meaningless game only to risk them to injury?

How many Commanders fan who made fun of Owens for sitting out the preseason wish now that maybe Portis and Springs would have done the same in hopes they would be 100% once the season started and the games were meaningful.

I bet Owens is smiling knowing that although people questioned his motives, he is happy that he will be 100%.......When the game counts........and when he will be a part of ripping the division rivals!

Whos laughing now?

Hey Portis........Get YOUR popcorn ready!

Wasn't Portis in for just one series when that happened or something like that?

He complained and wanted the pre-season down to 2 games fter that. What he forgets is that it was his FIRST pre-season game that he played in where he got injured. If it were the 4th game and he were injured, OK. But his arguement was laughable because it happened in the first game that he played in.

This is football....you can get injured on the first play of the season and be out for the rest of the year, and if I'm not mistaken, that already happened to a player this year....on the KICKOFF.

Wasn't Galloway injured in the 4th qtr. of a blowout for us in the first game of the season when we took him from Seattle?

Yeah I brought that up many times during the all important practice sessions he missed.

Never doubted the guy... how could anyone? his performance record speaks for itself... I think he will tear up the skins secondary...

Portis is a great player, but I can't stand to hear him speak, or see him dressed in those stupid outfits. He should just shut his trap and play.

Portis will be there.

Snyder will bring in Tom Cruise to perform his "witchcraft" on him.

The honeymoon is still going on with Owens and Dallas. I dont think there is a person on this board that thought he would act up his first year.

from my standpoint, Owens is still on a game by game basis until further. notice

I have to think that his contract includes behavior clauses. I read an article recently about how his every move is being watched and documented. This has to be related to some sort of behavior clause.

I guess if he wants his payday, then he needs to be careful about what he says and does.

I'm in the same boat you are. I didn't want to sign him and I wouldn't today.
He is here and nothing can be done about it, I'm taking the watch and see ave.

Really?

That is the first that I have heard of this but it wouldnt surprise me. I just think the Honeymoon is still on, as it was with Philly for a good while the 1st Season. No way in heck does he blowup the first season let alone the 1st Game.

The ironic thing about it is, he may have a blowup if he the QB happens to miss him on obvious TD plays and nobody, including myself would have a problem with that.

Based on his performance Sunday, I wouldnt be surprised if Parcells is thinking "Dang...I heard this dude was good but I didnt think he was this good". IMO, he was that monsterous Sunday and he had several yards called back because of penalties.

I think the article about documenting his every action is somewhere in this forum, though I don't recall if it specifically mentions a behavior clause.

I hear you on the Parcells thing and how many yards were called back. If Bledsoe was having even a normal "Bledsoe Day", and if we didn't have stupid penalties, TO would likely have had 2 TDs and about 150 yards. That would definitely impress Parcells, if he isn't impressed already.
