Who's our Wagner?

I am not hating Arians.they are over reliant on the deep ball with a QB who is having a terrible year.

Right, which is why Arians needs to adjust and continue to hand the rock off to Johnson and squeeze as much out of Palmer as he can. Then go after a QB in the draft. I predict Arians will be a bit more conservative as it sinks in that he doesn't have the slinger that Palmer once was.

But they have been using the **** out of Johnson.

Anyways, respectfully, Reddy, I'm gonna bow out of this debate since it's not the topic at hand, respectfully, brudda.

Because your are not allowed to touch the center on field goals, most of them snap the ball and stay low. They must have noticed this on film and took advantage. All the center has to do is snap the ball and stand up a little and this will no longer be an option for teams to try. I'd love to see a center come up, catch the guy in mid air, and body slam him back to the ground. No one will try that crap again.

We need a Wagner.

The NFL determined that Bobby Wagner was within the rules Sunday night when he leaped over the center and blocked a field goal against Arizona. There was a lot of debate in the booth; Collinsworth thought it was illegal because his foot grazed the center. The league says no, that as long as you don't land on players, it's legal.

Wagner did it again in overtime, and Cardinals kicker Catanzaro hit the upright from inside the 10-yard line.

Psychologically, that is a great weapon. It gets in kickers heads, and Catanzaro looked off after Wagner blocked the first one. I would think that would be especially the case on longer kicks when a lower trajectory is needed. Expecting a huge leap right in your line of vision is unsettling.

The Cowboys need to figure out who best could do that on this team. Preferably a non-starter because it's an injury waiting to happen. Who on this team has long arms and a 40-inch vertical?

Likewise, this needs to be looked at from the offensive side. Somebody needs to nail the leaper in mid air before he gets close to the holder. Special teams coordinators on Seattle's schedule no doubt are pouring over this at this very moment.

You're up, Basaccia.
Morris Claiborne who we traded our 2nd rd pick to move up.

Was it the Bengals game where David Irving was pogo-sticked (on his head) into the ground?

Bruce Carter...oops...He was a master of blocking kicks in college but it never materialized while he was with the Cowboys.

It's going to be David Irving. He is 6-7 with freakishly long arms and big hands. The penalty on him a week or two ago was bs. He jumped and the OLinemen engaged him, not the other way around.

THIS.

A lot of folks are overlooking the fact that the long snapper didn't even attempt to raise his head up and block. It was more of a lack of execution on the LS part than it was a great play from Wagner

Teams don't need a "Wagner" they need the Cardinals' LS to play for their opponent every game. Although I doubt he has a job much longer if he keeps that crap up

The league won't be friendly to guys trying to vault themselves...will engineer it away with rules refinement.

Anthony Spencer blocked a FG against Seattle just like Wagner but Spencer cleared the long snapper. This happened in 2011 or 2012. Can't remember exactly.

I don't know I think we have many guys that can paint a house, I doubt they are as good or efficient as a wagner.:p
