I like Earl Bennett in 2. Afraid he might be gone before Dallas gets on the clock though.

Hardy's Stats . . . .

Career Statistics
Year GP Rec Yds YPC TD
2004 DNP - - - -
2005 10 61 893 14.6 10
2006 10 51 722 14.2 10
2007 13 79 1,125 14.2 16
Totals 33 191 2,740 14.3 36

Hardy's TDs over the course of 3 years is amazing (and consistent).

I'd like to draft him in the 2nd as well. Again, another WR with very solid production in college.

I thought he looked really good in the drills at the combine, for what that's worth.

I like Malcolm Kelly.

By the way, what exactly are the "rumors" concerning Kelly's knees?

Is it bogus, or did Kelly have a surgery or something? I know he hasn't worked out yet, but as I understand, he's planning on working out soon (this week I think).

Any truth to the rumors that his knees are shot? Or just pre-Draft B.S.?

I'd rather get a vet FA, but if we were to draft one.....I'd have to go with Thomas by a hair over Hardy. I'd take a chance on the late bloomer.

Doctor who has been treating him says Kelly is 100% and had suffered from a slight quadricep tear which prevented him from doing some work at the combines the knee is fine according to his doctor.

OK, thanks.

It will be interesting to see how well he runs and does his drills in a few days.

I think a WR is an idiot move in this draft. We have a crop of possible #2's on the roster already and they all have different upsides. Anyone in the draft is IMHO just as risky as our roster. Our possibilities...Austin is tall and a great return guy. Hurd looks like he could be a control receiver. Maybe Glenn comes back to old form. Stanback rumors are flying again about his speed. If we can't do a trade for an existing elite receiver this year, we can watch these young guys for one more year and the FA next year has a lot of options... Roy Williams, maybe Chad Johnson pisses off the Bengals enough that they give up next year. I also think thing with the Cardinals next year may get heated.

But your question assumed that we HAD to draft a receiver I wouldnt throw up with Kelly at #28 since its such a low gamble. I guess although I hate him as a receiver, if you added another couple of caveats: that PacMan wasnt coming and you gave up on Austin's return game, you could make a case for Desean JAckson at #28.

Hardy because he has the biggest upside and very productive even though he had no help.....

I am with the majority and think we add a vet on draft day but if Hardy a 28 is the counsilation prized I would not complain

James Hardy of Indiana because he put up decent stats with a horrible QB, is huge, and can fly. I can at least hope with a good QB like Romo that he'd develop into a good WR.

Still sticking with my belief we're adding a vet WR.

This is the part that concerns me. Dallas' receiving corps is aging, slowing and becoming more injury prone. This is glaring need if not now soon, very soon. Dallas had better plan for this year and the next right now because you don't know if Williams is available or if he will be franchised. Same with Johnson. Fast forward to next year and no #1 WR is available, Glenn is out of the league and Owens is another year older and wants a new contract. That leaves Dallas in a bad position depending on someone to step up. I think we have seen what Crayton is capable of and that is an average or below #2 or a good #3. Hurd is a huge question mark as is Stanback. Romo needs some weapons that stretch the field and makes the safeties back off so Barber has room to run.

If Williams is available get him. If not some youth and speed needs to be injected now because WR's take around three years to develop and this team is built around Romo who needs weapons.

With Owens and Witten on the field, I do believe that Red Jesus could find a way to get DeSean Jackson the ball. Mayhem quickly ensues.

Where did you get that idea? He was what kept them in most games. Hardy will dissapoint a lot of you guys.

Alot of great points, but I somehow think the Cowboys will grab Eddie Royal from VT, because he has return ability, and Jason Garrett said himself, that he caught his eye at the Senior Bowl.

I know you are asking for WR's at either 22 or 28, but if we pick a WR...give me Donnie Avery in the 2nd. I really like this kid and think he'd be a great compliment to TO, or next year after we get Roy Williams in FA :)

Although I like what I've seen of Kelly (which is not that much, though), I would be fine with waiting until the second round and either picking up Avery or Dexter Jackson.
