Why are people acting like getting Lee back is a "bonus"?

I don't really understand. He hasn't played a complete season since at least his sophomore year in college, maybe longer. I keep reading in threads and twitter posts how great it will be to see him on the field, like he is some sleeper player. At this point, it's time to call a spade a spade and realize he just isn't going to be on the field late in the season. I hate to write him off, but without some serious depth at the linebacker position, it is hard to just pencil him in and say we're good to go.

I'm not. And people complained about Murray. He would be good to have but we never know if we are going to have him.

But if you call a spade a spade then you'll also say that if he plays we'll get all-pro play at Will for about 11 or 12 games this year (I don't know about if it's to start the year or end it).

If you're not willing to do that then you can't blame fans for being optimistic around you realists.

Lee is nothing more than a luxury that would be utterly nice for the team to have for a full season, but...
Until he goes full-on Murray in a contract year... Don't give him the benefit of the doubt.

Well he did play 29 games from 2010 to 2011

I'll take 14-15 games this year and be Damn happy...bc he's a stud when he's on the field

Because when he's been out there, he's shown himself to be a star-caliber linebacker?

No one know if he's going to make it through the season, but he's a very good player when he's on the field. But I do think injuries are the reason we've added three veteran linebackers as depth.

I don't think it mattered which position he was playing last year...he would've tore his acl either way...so I'm also not buying all this position change stuff

That's probably why they have signed 3 LBs with NFL starting experience and added another one at the end of last season.
