Why are so many acting like 2015 did not happen

Some of you all are really late to the party. I take you back to 2015. The Weeden/Matt Cassell year. Forget the fact we did not get wins. Forget the fact that we did not score points. For those of you who have forgotten....we could not even get 1st downs!

I do not have the stats in front of me. But I have never seen so many 3 and outs in my 35+ years of watching football. The way Garrett approached the those games while Romo was out sealed the deal for me. He coached as if he just didn't want to mess anything up while Romo was injured. He fully expected Romo to return and reel of 7+ straight wins to get us into the postseason.

We were essentially shut out yesterday. The fact that we put together some 1st downs is reason for optimism? /sarcasm

I repeat what a competent GM should already know. Garrett will NEVER win 3 games in a row in a postseason. The postseason represents the best teams and coaches...and Garrett will empty his tank trying to win 1. He is a college coach. Give him 100 5* players and he will be Nick Saban. But ask him to take inferior talent...put together a game plan....create a culture that has 3* talent believing they can win week in and week out...and is too much work for him. No one in the Cowboy front office really has too work that hard. They win before they even take the field. When you are worth more than any other sports franchise in the world...WITHOUT having to win...what pressure are you really under?

The refusal to employ any speed on this offense has gone on for so long...it is clearly intentional. They simply rely on the best running game in the NFL...hopefully get some play action pass off that...throw some jump balls in the redzone to Dez...and busted plays where Romo/Dak break the pocket and make something happen. Without the threat of the run game yesterday...you get what you got. Without any speed on offense, without the threat of any big plays in the passing game, without the threat of a consistent running game...you will play behind the chains. You will have to rely on 8+ plays scoring drives...and the personnel is to limited to accomplish that right now. An untimely holding, false start, stuff for no gain on 1st down...and the drive is doomed.

Like I always say...there is a very comfortable environment in Dallas. They have been able to build brand new everything...without having to win. The rest is just fantasy football. Understand what game is being played....then decide how to proceed with your fandom!

JuJu SS really is coming on big now.

While I still like the Awuzie pick, damn, could use that talent at WR right now.

That being said, this offensive staff isn't good enough to win it all unless we have studs everywhere and we beat teams due to talent, not scheme

I think Romo would have had a SB if he would have had a competent HC. Only had one year of a tired Parcells.Wasted Romo and Witten's best years. I hope Dak and Zeke aren't going to be wasted here.
I NEVER wanted Garrett to coach the future franchise QB after Romo. I wanted the Romo/Garrett era to end together. The timing of Romo's injury really put this front office in between a rock and a hard place. So here we are...in 2017...with a new millennium QB...being coached by a 90s coach. I really like Dak. But he is no Aikman when it comes to accuracy and velocity. Dez is no Irvin when it comes to precision and focus. And for the love of God...Garrett is not close to being Jimmy Johnson. So without the running game...asking Dak to be Aikman is just absurd. This will be tough sledding. The windows Dak has to fit the ball just to get 7 or 8 yards is ABSURD. The throws he makes from one hashmark...to the outside of the opposite hashmark...is big league stuff. And it is really not what he excels at....but that is what we got. Just leave me shaking my head. When I see other teams have speedy WRs galloping through the middle of the field for big chunks...and we spill our guts just completing a 7 yard pass. So sick and tired of this!

I agree. Let's end the Garrett era while we can and not mix in Dak and Zeke etc. with this clown and completely waste another set of careers.

Well....he won't be around forever. It's a matter of time and how he gets the ax but I do believe yesterday was a bad day for Garrett. I'm probably wrong though. :(
At his age, he'll be around for another 20 years. For some reason, Jerry thinks he's the answer.

I'm hoping enough is enough here. At some point, fans are gonna disappear and hopefully that may get Jerrys attention. I know I've had enough of this ****.
Jerry has a real luxury, the most willing fans in sports. He could hold onto Garrett for another decade and people would still show up every Sunday.

Jerry will NEVER fire Garrett.
Never is a long time.......jmo, but I think Jerry is beginning to see Garrett's shortcomings....finally.....I also think Jerry is more desperate to win now than he ever has been, because he wants to stick it to Goodell.......We will have to wait and see a little while longer though...unfortunately.....

Jerry doesn’t want to win another championship if he’s not going to recieve more credit than he did with Jimmy.

Remember Jerry even admitted he’d of fired a GM with his record but continues on.

This is the path he chooses for Cowboys Football.

I look to the end of Garret's contract as the time to make many peoples dream come true.
So that gives Garrett 2 1/2 years to put it together.
I am pullin for him.Why wouldn't I?
Doesn't work that way. 10 year book on him. He ain't surprising anybody. He would need 53 studs to go uninjured for 16+ games to pull off the big one. NFL does not work that way.

It seems painfully obvious that Garrett doesn't have the power or the guts (one of the two)to direct his coordinators to do what he wants

You can't tell me when Rod was doing his Rush 3 and drop 8 and we were getting blown out that he didn't see it wasn't working and should have told Rod enough of that crap. After enough damage was done in the whole world could see it was a failed concept they finally made a change but I don't think it was Garrett's doing.
the same thing with lenihan's offense, parts of it just don't function they never have it was painfully obvious in the 2015 season is inside running game sucks and his ability to adjust out of it is non-existent why doesn't Ginger force him to?
Ugggg
.. it's going to take me more than a day to get over that debacle,
