Why are so many acting like 2015 did not happen

Oh, stop. Of course he will. Just not now. Jerry has no problem blaming anyone not related to him for the mess he's made.
Yes, He will fire JG as long as the next HC agrees to back Jerry publically while Jerry and family call most of the shots (including player personnel and coordinators). What kind of a truly effective HC wants to coach with those limitations?
It is what it is until Jerry steps down.

Oh I think Jerry will have to lay down before he's not running the Cowboys.

And the homers say he'll live forever. Or at least we'll into his 90s. Cause he's rich and stuff.

Been saying this for years. Jerry is a puppet MASTER. The reason JG is still coach is because Jerry luv's the puppet.

What good/real coach would want to come here and deal with Jerry Jones?

JuJu SS really is coming on big now.

While I still like the Awuzie pick, damn, could use that talent at WR right now.

That being said, this offensive staff isn't good enough to win it all unless we have studs everywhere and we beat teams due to talent, not scheme

Juju looks explosive. Awuzie is durable as Sean Lee and that's not a good sign.

I NEVER wanted Garrett to coach the future franchise QB after Romo. I wanted the Romo/Garrett era to end together. The timing of Romo's injury really put this front office in between a rock and a hard place. So here we are...in 2017...with a new millennium QB...being coached by a 90s coach. I really like Dak. But he is no Aikman when it comes to accuracy and velocity. Dez is no Irvin when it comes to precision and focus. And for the love of God...Garrett is not close to being Jimmy Johnson. So without the running game...asking Dak to be Aikman is just absurd. This will be tough sledding. The windows Dak has to fit the ball just to get 7 or 8 yards is ABSURD. The throws he makes from one hashmark...to the outside of the opposite hashmark...is big league stuff. And it is really not what he excels at....but that is what we got. Just leave me shaking my head. When I see other teams have speedy WRs galloping through the middle of the field for big chunks...and we spill our guts just completing a 7 yard pass. So sick and tired of this!
Agree with much of your sentiments but to be fair, Aikman wasn’t Aikman either without a solid running game. Do you remember the first two games of the 1993 season? Do u recall when Emmitt got hurt on Monday night in Chicago in the 1996 opener?

Yes...I do...this offense needs a dominat run game to work. But...Aikman was a better talent than Prescott. Better in every way...except mobility. And that is ok. One was the #1 overall pick..the other was a 4th rounder.

Yes. I get that. But Troy was no Marino or Elway, either. I loved Troy but he benefitted from a great running game just as much as Dak does...skill levels aside. Troy’s record/stats in games without Emmitt is pretty fair to middlin.

Sorry he did get a apprenticeship Thats one of the zoners complaints.
You seem not to view opposing opinions well. Thats not uncommon but it tends to not advance dialog.

if you do the same thing again and again and get the same results and then expect something different, that is one definition of insanity.

By the way you have a lot of nerve about not taking opposing views well.

Despite the EVIDENCE all around that you are wrong

Some of you all are really late to the party. I take you back to 2015. The Weeden/Matt Cassell year. Forget the fact we did not get wins. Forget the fact that we did not score points. For those of you who have forgotten....we could not even get 1st downs!

I do not have the stats in front of me. But I have never seen so many 3 and outs in my 35+ years of watching football. The way Garrett approached the those games while Romo was out sealed the deal for me. He coached as if he just didn't want to mess anything up while Romo was injured. He fully expected Romo to return and reel of 7+ straight wins to get us into the postseason.

We were essentially shut out yesterday. The fact that we put together some 1st downs is reason for optimism? /sarcasm

I repeat what a competent GM should already know. Garrett will NEVER win 3 games in a row in a postseason. The postseason represents the best teams and coaches...and Garrett will empty his tank trying to win 1. He is a college coach. Give him 100 5* players and he will be Nick Saban. But ask him to take inferior talent...put together a game plan....create a culture that has 3* talent believing they can win week in and week out...and is too much work for him. No one in the Cowboy front office really has too work that hard. They win before they even take the field. When you are worth more than any other sports franchise in the world...WITHOUT having to win...what pressure are you really under?

The refusal to employ any speed on this offense has gone on for so long...it is clearly intentional. They simply rely on the best running game in the NFL...hopefully get some play action pass off that...throw some jump balls in the redzone to Dez...and busted plays where Romo/Dak break the pocket and make something happen. Without the threat of the run game yesterday...you get what you got. Without any speed on offense, without the threat of any big plays in the passing game, without the threat of a consistent running game...you will play behind the chains. You will have to rely on 8+ plays scoring drives...and the personnel is to limited to accomplish that right now. An untimely holding, false start, stuff for no gain on 1st down...and the drive is doomed.

Like I always say...there is a very comfortable environment in Dallas. They have been able to build brand new everything...without having to win. The rest is just fantasy football. Understand what game is being played....then decide how to proceed with your fandom!
Probably the best most thought out post I've read in a while. I agree 100%!

I think Romo would have had a SB if he would have had a competent HC. Only had one year of a tired Parcells.Wasted Romo and Witten's best years. I hope Dak and Zeke aren't going to be wasted here.

I tend to agree. Romo got the choker label trying to make low % desperation plays way more often than Aikman ever did in the early-mid 90s, because some combination of coaching, OL and/or defense were almost always trash.

You are correct sir. This offense is built on a power running game. This offense needs a bell cow. All 1300+ rushing yards seasons are not created equal. Which is why Murry or Zekes rushing for 1300+ yards is way different than McFadden getting the same yards. McFadden is not a bell cow. He does not tire or wear a defense down. Honestly...Im not sure a bell cow is prudent in the modern NFL. The year Murray went for 1800+ yards...he wore down near seasons end. I was on record saying we should have never let his numbers get so high to the point we could not afford him....or have him at peak effectiveness for a playoff run. Again...this outfit makes so much money....that the tactical decisions that seem obvious to everyone else....does not really matter to them. What are the repercussions? Jerry has created an entire new legion of fan that is in for the shiny stadium, big TV scoreboard, cage dancers, panty shops, fancy art on the walls, sushi and IPA at the concession stands.....did I mention the state of the art practice facility and offices for coaches that don't win? Cowboys fans from the 70s should NEVER buy into the crap he is selling!

We could have drafted the best DB available at 28 and then taken JJ SS in the second (we needed a WR too). We reached for Taco due to need. It takes DL too long to make an impact and even if they eventually do, they then cost a fortune to keep ( see D. Lawerence). I love the way the Patriots do it. They don't waste a lot of money on DE and then they manufacture a pass rush.

I would have loved to see a draft of King or Awusie in the first and then had Ju Ju. in the second.

Totally agree that money and glitz have superseded championships around here. Spent the first half of my life basking in the glory of Cowboys football and now spending the second half wallowing in its misery. Am yet still as committed a fan as ever. Lol. Go figure!?! Perhaps I’m part of the problem?!!

Said it a half dozen times, bring in Harbaugh next season, and we are in the NFC C game at the minimum with the same talent. We are built for what he likes to do.

What Jerry doesn't realize is he would look like a golden God if he did something like this. The excitement for the Cowboys would be at an all time high. But he won't.

I would......before Mara does in a couple of months. ;)

Luster is coming off of Harbaugh.

That was the year I swore off football to focus full time on interpretive dance. So technically it didn't happen.
