Why aren't we moving on Rolando and Bruce?

I apoligize if its been discussed already, but for the life of me i can't figure out why we aren't moving on these two. Any ideas?

I love Hitchens and Lee, but Lee is injury prone and McClain was huge for us last year. Same with Carter. I'd want these two back on my team without question.

Probably not much demand, especially for Bruce. Teams may be waiting on Ro's arson case to be complete?

Just don't think those two are the priority right now and someone in the draft could potentially be their replacement, IMO.

It is really difficult to know the market for them. The Cowboys most likely need to let them test free agency before making a decision. The team would likely have to overpay them in order to lock them up before the start of FA.

I'm not really certain how the teams feels about Carter. Hitchens was a starter in several games over Carter. Marinelli has twice called out Carter in the press and that's the only player that I know of they he did that with. The LB coach did have a positive statement about Carter at the end of the season and said that he is seeing things quickly now.

Is any team moving on anyone yet? I mean other than making cuts?

I don't get the bruce Carter hate. He led the team in INT and had more then Sherman. He looked very comfortable this season and made huge plays for us. Stayed healthy all year unlike Durant, Lee, Hitchens and Ro.

Will be huge lost and another hole to fill if we lose him

No rookie will come in and provide what Carter did unless it's top 10 and that's a huge if as well

No, but some have started discussions on keeping their own. But, it is too early to worry about this.
We've had discussions with some players. We've re-inked all of our Exclusive Rights Free Agents.

I agree. I don't see any reason I wouldn't take Carter back. I'm not a cap guy but I can't see him costing that much. Maybe I'm wrong.

Giving Career big money idea is not a good idea. He'll sit on it and get fat and lazy.

I don't know if I want to resign McClain. With his concussion issues at at the end of the season and the way he hits. Then he is facing a 4 game suspension next year and the investigation of his house fire. Just sounds like to much to want to throw money at.

Carter is going to take the best deal he can get. He might be to high for dallas.

I want both back. I'd try to see if Rolando would take a 2 year deal, and see if Carter would do the same. Rolando because of his past work ethic issues and Carter because he's been very up and down. Gives us a solid LB corps while Romo's window is still open.

Well, it does take two to tango. I would think both LBs McClain and Carter were told by their agents to wait and see what they can get on the open market. I imagine both will then come back to see if the Cowboys will match or come close. Business.

If you were Carter or McClain, wouldn't you want the most money? There is no hurry. Now if the Cowboys offer stunning deals to both, I'm sure they would take it.

I really just don't understand the steps it takes for people to go from "arson" to "McClain had a hand in the arson." It's ridiculous. There are clearly more obvious reasons for an intentional fire than the owner burning down a place with his important belongings in it. Additionally, he's not facing a suspension. He's facing a 4 game suspension IF he fails another test. I am all for bring McClain back at a reasonable price...and the price will be reasonable.

Carter leaving,I agree with. It's not at all about hating Carter, it's about the fact that his play, his age and his athleticism look more attractive to a team that doesn't have him yet. Some other team (probably a 3-4 team) will offer him a deal too rich for Dallas to sensibly match.

I'm not saying he had anything to do with it. But with his past history I think you have to wait and see. Also he is facing a 4 game ban due to a failed drug test and his concussion history at the end of the season also scares me away from singing him long term.

McClain for me just comes down to mo et and guaranteed money and Contract length

But he's really not facing a 4 game ban. He's just a step closer to it. I know this is a pretty shallow thing for me to say, but this four game fine actually works in our favor since it will bring his price down. I honestly believe that McClain will be able to be resigned by us for a pretty low number. To me, he's the opposite of Carter in that IMO he's viewed as more valuable by the Cowboys than by other teams, whereas Carter will be viewed as more attractive by other teams who will give him a payday. His concussion problems are a concern, but think about McClain, after actual time in an offseason program (rather than walking in off the street), playing like the monster he was in early 2014. Only this time Sean Lee is next to him at the will. Tell me that's not intriguing.
