Why can't JJ Wilcox start?

What is Will Allen doing to be the shoe-in starter? Church is balling as I expected and Wilcox is always doing something. Why do we need another nobody back there?

I know eventually if Allen plays bad hell be benched but why wait?

Allen has looked surprisingly decent the few snaps I've watched of him. I still think Wilcox can be better than Church.

Wilcox doesn't even play Allen's position. He plays Church's. As of right now, Chrch is better

I agree I want to see JJ out there with Church. Also it's good to see Church is finally getting his game feet under him. He does have good open field form tackling. Church is going to have a very good year IMO

I love all the people that doubt Church. He is a good solid heady football player and he will have a very good year. Just because he is playing FS doesn't mean he can't play SS personally I think he is a better fit at SS and JJ would be a great FS. Although I remember Zims safeties were basically the same. I wonder if Kiffins defense is the same in that regard.

2. Why can't they start together? (He and church). Makes no sense to me. Wilcox can play centerfield I'm pretty sure. If he's just an (in the box guy) it was a sorry draft pick.

Wrong on Church. A lot of people don't understand the value, especially in this defense, of how important Church's tackling abilities are, meaning not allowing any extra yardage after a completion. This guy is, and will be a 4-5 year starter.

As far as Allen, solid and steady is what he is. He looks good, just wont stand out and as we saw yesterday his hands are suspect. I love what Wilcox has done and hope he can take over as the starter for Allen hopefully by week 4 or 5.

I think ideally the team would like to eventually get JJ out there with Church. I would think that at some point either they will move Church to SS or Wilcox to SS. But I think the scouts and coaches are really looking for this to be the safety tandem in the neat future. They didn't extend Church and draft his replacement. Just wait and see Church will be the safety this team has missed.

Yep. Allen already does nothing. If he's giving up Tds week 1 I'd bench him quick. Jj can do that

Because Allen is better than Wilcox at this point in their careers and that should be very evident to anyone watching the games.

We have a lot of youth back there with Mo and Church. We need Carr and Allen because they are experienced and don't make mistakes.

Again, if Allen is getting burnt why can't JJ replace him? If he's whiffing on tackles why can't he be replaced? Cowboy fans are the most timid group but the biggest whiners at the same time. I bet most of you would've taken sensabaugh over Wilcox as well because he's the (qb).

Its pretty obvious to you and the other that the plan is not to replace Church who has a multi year contract, but Allen who is on a 1 year deal, when Wilcox is ready to start.
