There's something to be said for a guy that is always around the ball. Will Allen is sensabaugh until proven otherwise

I agree that Allen looks pretty average, and I agree that Wilcox looks like he'll be a force back there. "But 90% of the game is half mental" as Yogi Berra said once. Allen won't make many highlight plays, but because of his experience, he won't make many mental mistakes that give up easy touchdowns. This defense is prefaced on the idea of making the other team work for every yard and expecting them to self-destruct before they reach the end zone. It only works in the defense doesn't self-destruct. In my opinion, Wilcox is not ready to be a starter. I think he will prove to be a draft steal, but not yet.

Just be patient with Wilcox.

He is up and down right now. Allen will be a steady player for us until JJ is ready.

Some fans only see big plays. They don't see the plays that the safeties give up. Not sure how that works.

Because Allen is playing really well, and Wilcox is nowhere near ready.

One day, Wilcox will be a good player and a starter, but not yet.

Allen is better than Wilcox right now. I trust that Kiffin will make the switch when Wilcox is ready.

Being that the 1st team defense has given up NO TD's this preseason how on earth can anyone complain about the defense? Especially where its been at the past two seasons? Allen has looked solid. No reason to throw JJ out there this fast. Let him earn his spot.
