Honestly believe Lawernce will help the Defense when he returns. The problem between Hardy and Garrett should have been worked...he was the best defender the club had. Too bad about Gregory.

I haven't given up on Gregory.

Obviously one more failed test and that's that.

But he's supposedly been clean for a few months and that's big.

Looking at all the pass rushers over the last two years that have been drafted– And I still think he has the most talent.

I haven't given up on Gregory either. I like this boy and he has real talent. He needs to find a way to beat the tests or quit smoking pot during the seasons. I really don't like his long term chances of not reoffending.

I don't think the odds of Gregory not failing either are very good either.

But you never know.

I agree about Hardy but that ship has sailed.

Lawrence MAY help the defense but rumors have been flying he may have issues still even though Garrett says otherwise..

Garrett always says the opposite of what is with injuries, suspensions and controversy.

So we'll see.

I expect him to be marginal in the beginning and maybe by the end of the year he will get it going.

8 sacks from the strong side of Marinelli's scheme is pretty good production. It's not "Pro Bowl? level (and I don't recall anyone saying it is), but it isn't
bust" either.
8 sacks in like 3 years is not big production.

It is for us but other teams would have to chuckle.

Add his injury shortened season and now the suspension..

Yes.

bust so far IMO.

Compare him to Jones, DAK and Zeke.

No comparision.

Its a certainty that conditioning will be a problem for Lawrence. Some rumors about injuries l don't know about that.

I seriously doubt Marinelli has been oblivious to the talents of Ryan Davis. Am expecting his reps at DE will increase this Sunday. That isn't to categorize him as an elite pass rusher at this stage of his career but as far as this week is concerned, he's likely the best Dallas has as a pass rusher to put onto the field. I'll be fairly disappointed if he's not allowed to see more action vs. San Francisco today.

I would be disappointed as well, it would be good to see what he can do with significant snaps. He is only 27 so maybe there is some upside there.

Just to clarify your statement. Lawrence played in 7 games as a rookie in 2014 without a sack but played well in the playoffs.
In 2015, he registered 8 sacks. Right now, I'll gladly take 8 sacks from him this year.

Plus, he's our best 2nd round pick in recent memory. So, there's that... lol

Actually, it was 8 sacks LAST SEASON.

Like I said, not stellar, but not a bust, either.

I was referencing his overall career so far..

not JUST last year..

Hopefully it carries over for him but you have to wonder why he would be so loose with his nutrition knowing what was required.

But I understand..I have a good friend who is an ex-pro cyclist and he strictly has a diet and combination of supplements that keep him in great shape and he has counciled me.

He does it as a trainer for others, too. But there are some things he takes I just won't do. I don't lnow enough about them to know how they will mix with the meds I take.

So I can see doing something like what Lawrence maybe did by mistake.

But I still think Lawrence has a long way to go to justify the team's investment in him.
