With the amount of poor starting quarterback play and depth in the league right now and the inability to find a capable young backup with potential and upside, if Cooper Rush was cut, there would be a slew of teams looking to put him on their 53 man roster as a guy to groom....on the other hand, if Kellen Moore was cut, I doubt any other team would even consider signing him....For me it's a no brainer, I'd make Cooper Rush the backup and cut ties with Kellen Moore but if Dallas is really worried about having a rookie as a backup, then just sign Kellen Moore to the practice squad since he's still eligible......

Any other franchise, Moore is gone and Rush stays.

Us not so much. They'll keep Moore around. So yes, some are afraid lol

I'm still afraid for half of that, where they might still stubbornly keep Kellen Moore around, but even myself, an often outspoken critic, can't see them being dumb enough to risk Rush.

Some good data, but did anyone seriously think that the team was still considering exposing Rush to waivers?

Well in all fairness today was the first day I read anything that actually gave credence to the idea that they might keep him. Before that the company line was strongly behind Kellen Moore. So I think many of us fear that they will find a way to screw this up.

I'm not going to worry about it unless they give me a reason to worry and do something stupid. If that happens, hand me my torch and pitchfork!

Hopefully, we can trade Rush to Cleveland in three years for their first-round pick.

Unless he beats out Dak by then, of course. Then, we'll trade Dak to Cleveland.

It would be like a shark frenzy.

Before Saturday night vs. the Colts there were a few holdouts in here that did.

I could possibly see it even then, but at this point? When this article was written? Old news by this point. They're not cutting this guy. Moore would go first, and hopefully, he does.

Rush is going to have to repeat his good play for the next two games for even a shot to supplant Linehan's boy. Even one slip-up and Moore is in the QB2 spot like a dirty shirt. They're only keeping 2 QBs on the roster, IMO.

saw some horrible, horrible QB play by starters in Wk2 of PS (JAX, BAL, NYJ) . Saw even worse play from #2 QBs (JAX, SF, LAC, CIN)

I have no doubt that there is a team or two that would take a shot at Rush as a #3 or #2 even...especially if he keeps looking decent..

Yeah, he's a rookie back up. But if the Cowboys lose Cooper Rush because they're afraid of losing Kellen Moore I'll be annoyed.

It's easier to keep extra players while multiple players are suspened.

No such thing as sneaking anyone to the practice squad. All teams are scouting other teams and are well aware when talent is exposed to waivers. Some other team would pick up Rush, no doubt.

I thought about that, but they're going to need to carry extra D-line and Dbs more than an extra QB. 4 Tes? Noah Brown? I feel that they're the most comfortable at QB for the first time in a decade (a young, sturdy QB that's built like a FB).

They don't need to replace Irving and Moore. They normally carry 10 or 11 DL but only have 8 active on game day.

Moore is 2 games and Irving 4. That gives 2 extra players for 2 games and 1 extra for 2 more games.

They'll carry and extra RB with Zeke out so that's break even.
