They don't need to replace Irving and Moore. They normally carry 10 or 11 DL but only have 8 active on game day.

Moore is 2 games and Irving 4. That gives 2 extra players for 2 games and 1 extra for 2 more games.

They'll carry and extra RB with Zeke out so that's break even.

Also factor in Nolan Carroll's and Wilson's potential suspension. Then you have some drafted DB's that are hampering hamstrings and not getting playing time in PS. The 53-player chop-down is going to be interesting due to unknown suspension situations and with so many player on the bubble.

I hate to toot my horn, but ok I will. :) I stated this same thing in a thread yesterday I believe. It's no accident that he is playing like he is, or against vanilla, watered down, etc etc. he can play.

With the amount of poor starting quarterback play and depth in the league right now and the inability to find a capable young backup with potential and upside, if Cooper Rush was cut, there would be a slew of teams looking to put him on their 53 man roster as a guy to groom....on the other hand, if Kellen Moore was cut, I doubt any other team would even consider signing him....For me it's a no brainer, I'd make Cooper Rush the backup and cut ties with Kellen Moore but if Dallas is really worried about having a rookie as a backup, then just sign Kellen Moore to the practice squad since he's still eligible......

If they released both KM and Luke McGowan, I'm sure most teams interested in a backup or third stringer would look at McGowan first anyway. It's almost a lock KM would make it to the practice roster.

saw some horrible, horrible QB play by starters in Wk2 of PS (JAX, BAL, NYJ) . Saw even worse play from #2 QBs (JAX, SF, LAC, CIN)

I have no doubt that there is a team or two that would take a shot at Rush as a #3 or #2 even...especially if he keeps looking decent..

On the flipside we've been some very good QB play from Watson, Trubisky, Mahomes, and Kizer. Been a long time since there has been a chance for this much rookie impact from the QB position.

And for anyone thinking there is even a remote possibility of him making the PS....Rush graded as the highest QB per PFF in ps week 2, has highlights on NFL.com two weeks running highlighting top rookie performances, and was the subject of debate on whether he should be the backup in Dallas on First Take this morning. He's hardly a secret anymore and imo roughly 0 percent chance of clearing waivers.

Hopefully, we can trade Rush to Cleveland in three years for their first-round pick.

Unless he beats out Dak by then, of course. Then, we'll trade Dak to Cleveland.

Do you really think it will take three years for him to beat out Dak?

Nor should they try...He checks every Box to a legit developmental QB. Kinda like last year when we all wanted to call Dak the starter but had too much respect for Tony. A old wise man once said......"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Just take it and be grateful." I know he's a rook but, Kellen don't belong on the same field.
