Why did Jerry choose Schotty over Vrabel and Johnson?

That would be an extension genius.
You gotta stop w/ the cheap little digs. Makes you look less.

No, you are playing w/ words and getting this wrong. When a guy is working for you and his contract ends, if you offer him a new contract for less, that is a pay cut. This isn't rocket science, dude.

You are playing with words.

If you are making an offer, that means you want him back. You don't waste time making offers to people you don't want. You don't delay opening a position, negotiating with someone you have no interest in.

Yes, you do. It's called saving face. It's done all the time.

Explain how I'm playing w/ words. Not making sense of that.

So you believe companies make contract offers to people they have zero interest in hiring, wasting critical time, while other coaches are being hired?

Intensionally leaving themselves with less quality candidates to interview.

Jerry must love you, or you are related somehow.

Jerry doesn’t value coaching and believes anyone can coach a team to success with good players.

lol you have a choice in 2 jobs:

Job 1: your doing the job but your boss who is an idiot has control of how you do it and who is doing the things you need done...when it fails your gonna get the fire.

Job 2: your doing the job you pick how its done and who is doing the things you need done for it ...if YOU fail you get fired

which job you taking?

Jerry wants to be known and accepted as a football guy, so he is not going to hire the obvious choices who would make good HCs; his ego and narcissism make him opt for these bottom feeders, so on the oft chance they are successful, Jerry can take full credit. Moreover, Jerry is too cheap to pay for those coaches that are difference makers.
Lastly, at past hires…after Parcells they have all had milquetoast personalities and where has that gotten the Cowboys these past 30 years.

Last off season, many of us wanted Mike Vrabel or Ben Johnson for head coach. But Jerry gave us Schotty instead.

Less than 1 year later, Vrabel and Johnson are now 2-0 in the playoffs, while Schotty never did anything to earn a head coaching gig in the first place.

Oh what might have been…
This is no shocker. It is all about control. Schotty is Jethro’s buttboy just like Garrett. We will get the same results. It’s a process.

We said the exact same thing about Quinn last yr and his team was worse then the Cowboys year 2. I didn't like the hiring of Schott, but let's not go overboard with these 1 yr wonder teams just yet playing on that last place schedule. Now if they can do it multiple years, then we can have that discussion.

They do.

Your childish insult is noted. Are you capable of discussion w/o that?

So we all know that the Jones are all about the money and forbes listing , so anything else is secondary. Just a crap show that will not change until they sale the team. DAM

Quinn, to his credit, at least took his team to the championship game. His second year did suck, largely because his quarterback got injured.

I'm thinking we need to look forward. We've had enough bad memories when looking in the rear-view mirror. Pete Carroll was available last year too.
