Why did we rotate O-lineman?

Why did we take 2 players we’ve been grooming for years to play specific positions on the o-line, one at Left Guard and one at Right Tackle, then decide to swap them? Not to mention, both of them were solid at their respective positions.

This seems beyond idiotic. And don’t say because Green is injury prone. He’s injury prone now, nothing has changed, except now when he’s injured we STILL have a below average Tackle, and a practice squad player (cooper) at Guard.

They butchered the only unit that made this team a power house. At the time, they looked stupid. And hindsight has only confirmed that.

I think the feeling was solidify the right tackle spot with a good athlete and that it would be easier to find a guard than tackle.
If Chaz could be counted on and didn't have durability issues these moves never happen. They plug green at right tackle and never look back.
Now when he gets hurt they can plug in cooper and it's not a giant drop off.
That's what I think they were thinking.
We will see how it works out by seasons end

Because Jerry is hell bent on proving the brilliance of the Collins signing when every other team thought he was a murderer?

The real question is why did we think Leary was just a JAG and was expendable? He obviously wasn't.

Most dominant line in the NFL, you pay every one of them.

Minus Dak & Zeke, they were the only band-aid for our **** drafting over the last decade.

I have hope that with time Collins will prove to be a good right tackle. Don't think they expected Free to up and retire when he did. Easier to plug in one player on the line, but 2 is tough, the big 3 are over compensating for them and it shows.

You know how in life there are situation that you day dream about happening, if all the cards fall in place? Thats the way the cowboys have dealt with Collins. There was little practice approach and a ton of wishful thinking.

If you want a guess. Collins was the best talent by far and the others [Cooper/Green] were what we had. Each with their faults.
RT is more important but the change hasn't been working. Draft guard high when the time gets here.

It shows not only how good Leary was, but how good at run blocking Free was.

Not the same line now.

Lol prove the brilliance? He was exonerated when we signed him much to the chagrin of nearly every team in the league. And no one thought Leary was just a jag, he commanded too much money and was disgruntled. Only way to fault Jerry imo is if he’d traded him for peanuts as requested.
