Why didnt the cowboys sign juilus jones?

what evidence do you have of this statement?.............in 3 years jones has had 2 good games........he spent the rest of the time bruising the backs of our offensive line by running into them..........

Because he sucked. Have you already forgotten that feeling of doom you had everytime you realized he was in the game because you knew Dallas was going to have to punt and then that sense of relief you felt whenever Barber came back in. Thats why Jones is gone.

I'll tell you what, when Julius Jones came out of college I thought he was going to be a "Clinton Portis" type of back. I really did. And his rookie year was justified my faith in that prediction. However, the last 3 years have been underwhelming compared to that explosive rookie season.

I don't know what's happened to him. But somewhere along the way he's lost his ability to be patient and read blocks. If I had any hope at all that he'd turn his game around I'd be right there questioning the Cowboys decision not to sign him.

But I don't think he's going to turn his game around.

The Cowboys can get better runner for less money at this point.

Let me make this clear! JJ doesn't suck. He wasn't as productive for us as we would like him to be recently because he's the type that needs more than 10 carries a game to get things going. (Though some argue the fact he goes down too easy,and doesn't seem to read the blocks... I would agree on mos definately; however he is still not a bad back as you guys make him to be. "Suck"'ing is not the right word for JJ.) Therefore he wasn't fit for our system. Second, if we do resign him he'll cost more than the rookies we'll pick up. He also doesn't want to be a backup. In this case, it benefits both The Cowboys and JJ.

I can the see the woulda-coulda-shoulda crowd making a big deal about Julius's every move with Seattle, but if he plays anything like he did for us, they'll all look pretty silly.
