Why didn't we QB Sneak on 2nd and goal?

This is such a huge misconception. When have you ever seen a QB injured on a 1 yard sneak? Never. The hit has little impact because it is such close quarters.

And the reason you run it on the 1 is because you don't turn around and handoff and immediately lose 3 yards.

Definitely agree. That said, I wouldn't have called it with his bum leg in that situation. But otherwise yes, Brady runs it all the time, are they worried about him getting hurt?
I honestly cannot recall Romo ever even trying a QB sneak..in his entire career!

Exactly!

And I don't know if any of the coaches even knew Romo had hurt his back. He never went to trainers and it just looked like a leg or ankle tweak.

Brady is 6'4 isn't he? That makes a big difference when you're trying to do a quarterback sneak with the defense bunched in around the line of scrimmage.

It's not like Tony is Doug Flutie back there. They just never run the sneak..ever. I don't get it.

Why don't we have this in the damn play book? 2nd and goal inside the 1... To 4th and goal from the 10.

I don't think I can really remember Romo doing a QB sneak just about ever.

Beats me.

If it ever happens..its going to shock the world.

You want your franchise QB, who has some kind of leg or food injury to do a QB sneak? o_O

Actually, it's a back injury. Not an injury related to his pre-season surgery though. The back injury ran down his leg and made it seem that he had a leg injury, but his back was actually injured. Should be ready to go for next week though, says HC Jerry Jones.

May as well run the Wildcat with someone else under Center.

To the original point - yes, he's injured, but even completely healthy, this team just does NOT run sneaks. It just doesn't. Now that I do not understand...

Maybe they don't think it matches their strengths.

I actually googled it, lol. As far as I can tell the last time they did it was the last game of the season in the '11 season against the Giants, 4th and 1..and um, yeah, they didn't make it. ha I don't remember the play, article said the giants knew it was coming, Romo should have checked out of it.

Still though..I've never heard of a sneak losing 10 yards. (assuming a healthy Romo and trying it on 2nd and goal)

Brady is a master at the qb sneak they go 5 wide, he is in shotgun walks up like he is changing the play then goes quick snap 1st down or score everytime.......and I to ask why do we never do this?

I have heard of Romo fumbling the ball when trying to run with it and not sliding feet first which is way worse than losing 10 yards (assuming a non-dead Romo of course).

The fumblerooski can be a very effective play when implemented properly.

Didn't say he was. But with the line being stacked and Romo injured, you're not going to fare very well on a quarterback sneak. Usually, taller quarterbacks are more successful with quarterback sneaks.

Maybe Tony doesn't feel comfortable with it. Remember, Aikman never used the shotgun because he didn't like it. Then again, Romo's not Brady. Very few quarterbacks are.

SI did a article (might have been MMQB) that showed over the last 10 years that the QB sneak was the most succesfull running play for short yardage there is.

The Cowboys have been stupid for not using it in the past in short yardage situations, and now with a very good center it would be a good idea to have it ready.

I do agree that in a case where the QB is already injured it is not a good idea
