performance up untill now?

im talking about opposing teams fans, not cowboy fans.

Every message board i come across most of them say well he will only get worse once defenses figure him out, he is a flash in the pan, he is only doing good because he has great weapons around him.

it makes me mad, that Romo isnt getting any credit by opposing fans:mad:

Everyone said the same thing about Tom Brady. When a guy comes out of nowhere, people tend to think they will have their "cinderella" moment and then go back to reality.

I feel the same way about him. I am not sold on him yet. He will have to do more, it was nice to see him bounce this week after two horrible weeks but he still has a lot to prove to me.

Simply put...Jealousy.

If Romo was in their team with same stats (individually and team wise), he would be hailed as a great QB and we probably would act like them and try to downplay it. It's just a human nature.

he is on my team and I am not sold on him yet. I don't think it is that big of a stretch for a fan of another team to feel the same way.

well i've been guilty of this and i'll explain why. I think romo has had some great games in his short season, but i also think that a fair deal of the reaction to his success has to do with that star on his helmet. The media jumped all over him more than i've seen them jump on someone in a while.
He still has a lot to prove, and he hasnt been flawless. Hes playing for a team with a solid running game, and after the saints game people had questions about whether he could carry his team when running the ball was no longer an option.
That said, I'm not as skeptical about him as i once was. He bounced back very well last week, even though atlanta is pretty terrible against the pass.

I guess to sum it up, if you're not a dallas fan its hard to eat up an underdog story involving a guy who has the best receiver in football and terry glenn as targets. The media almost made it seem like the guy was turning a losing franchise around singlehandedly. Romo is the spark the cowboys needed. He is another playmaker on an offense full of playmakers. Whether he is the next great qb of the nfl remains to be seen...

2 horrible weeks?

you call the giants game horrible? if you think setting up the game winning field goal horrible then whatever.

if romo's performance was horrible, what do you call Tom Brady's performance vs. Miami?

What do you call Grossman's performance vs. Arizona, and Minnesota?

What do you call River's performance vs. Kansas City?

Your in minority when it comes to Cowboys fans. However, downplaying Romo's performance is far more prevalent with other team's fans.

Eh, it's nothing new.

People here have downplayed McNabb, Manning, Brady and every other great quarterback. It happens.

Opposing fans typically see every flaw, and focus much less on the good qualities.

yes I call the Giants game Horrible unless you think throwing two picks, and no tds, and finishing with a QB rating lower than the one he finished the Saints game with a good game. But hey I didn't forget how crappy he played after that great pass at the end of game to Witten...

I may be in the minority here, but that doesn't mean that I am not right.

If I recall correctly... Brees didnt start playing well until they drafted Rivers... so he has only been playing well 2 out of last 3 years. So he hasnt conquered any mountains either. HE HAS plenty of weapons too.

Anyways....

Not many question if he could lead... it was plain as day to see that there was no following game plan... just try and wing it to catch up. Show me where posters questioned if he could lead after that ONE game??

I have a snickers bar.. I will wait...

This is exactly my point.

I love to laugh at McNabb's flaws as much as anyone (puking away clutch moments), but if he's not "great," then Manning and Brady are about the only great quarterbacks in this league.

All the rest are just in the good range if McNabb is, as well.

look at what he has had to throw too...yeah hes a great qb, regardless of what you want to believe it or not, he had his best season statistically with Terrell which was only like ~500 yards more and ~5 more tds too
