Why do so many of you listen or even care what the national media thinks?

First off, I want to say that I was caught off guard with a couple of our picks however, why do so many of you listen or even care what the national media thinks.
1. regardless of what they think it doesn't change the pick.
2. It these same people that will critize us years later about the picks they said we should have made when thay end up bust. They NEVER admit they were wrong.

I personally could care less if anyone outside of Valley Ranch agrees with us. I'm a true Cowboys fan and while I don't agree with a lot of the decisions throughout the years. My alligence to the:star: to the stands.

Here is a simple solution to those that critize every decision that is made at Valley Ranch. The fake sideline GM's. There are 31 other teams you can cheer for find one so you can be happy.

The problem, though, is the thought process going on inside of Valley Ranch. Or, it has been anyway.

Kiper and McShay both like what we've done and were complimentary just a few moments ago.

Oh well then listen to those guys. Just don't listen to any of the guys that have anything critical to say. ;)

critical is one thing. but lets keep in mind this is NOT a science. at best there are still WAY to many factors that make it at best a game of chance.

One persons view means nothing til that player is on the field. Bottom line. Coaches, schemes, theories, all of it factor in and IS not taking into consideration for most of the media mouth pieces who are just paid to bring in a huge audience.

A lot of people drink the koolaid regardless.

I criticize based on the last 17 years of a Jerry Jones ran sorry excuse for a team.

I couldn't care less what the media says.

Take the media out of it, are you happy with this draft? How many starters did we get in this draft? We all of our needs addressed? We got one offensive lineman, it was our biggest need. We went to go pick up players that we don't need. How about a RB? We have a starter that can't stay healthy. You comfortable with Tanner as a back up? I'm not.

I don't need to media to tell me how bad this draft was or how bad we need a real GM. It speaks for itself.

We actually did get quite a few good players in the draft. It's just that, as usual, the fan view of the teams needs and the teams view of the teams needs didn't mesh.

Happens more often than not, and I think the response is natural, especially for a team that's been struggling.

No, I'm not happy with this draft.

We reached for Frederick, and he's my favorite pick.

ANOTHER 2nd round TE? After taking one in the 6th last year?

A WR when there were still plenty of good OL on the board?

A project SS?

I'm actually "ok" with the Webb pick, but he wasn't my first choice.

For a team that can't address needs in free agency AND had serious issues at the point of attack on both sides of the ball, we seem fine with standing pat there. That is a serious problem with me, and I don't need the media - local, national, whatever - to advise on that point.

The media manipulates the public in this country more than most people care to admit(or even realize). It's scary.

As for sports media, we're stuck with these guys because that's where all our information originates and it's hard to separate the wheat from the chafe,,, i dont have intimate knowledge of all these players. The only other option is to trust Jerry's moves.

I totally agree with you. The first pick is the best no doubt. At least this guy is an anchor and will contribute immediately. I really like what I see on film. I just expected at least another Right Tackle to be drafted.

The rest may be good, fine. But we are not a 12-4 team. Unless Jerry plans to address the rest of the line in FA, then I'm afraid of the same results from last year.

Everyone loves to bash Jerry. Salary cap and parity have stopped the Cowboys, just like it has stopped many of the great teams of the past.

Whenever a pick goes bad, it is Jerry's fault. If a pick produces, then it is, a scout's pick, or a coach's pick, the equipment manager's pick.

You read a lot about how Parcells was such a great evaluator of talent. I remember how mad this board was when Jerry overrode Parcells and took Ware instead of Merriman. Jerry is just the scapegoat.

I bet no one on this board knows one percent of football that Jerry knows.

It isnt a matter of what national media thinks but it could be a gage of what impartial eyes think.
