Why do the 'Boys remind me of the Mavs?

We live and die by Tony Romo. Just like the Mavs live and die by Dirk. When Dirk drove the lane in the conference finals against San Antonio in the final seconds and got fouled and drained the free throw, they tied the game and won in overtime. But, Dirk likes to shoot fade aways and low percentage 3's, even though he is SEVEN feet tall.

Same goes with the Cowboys. And you can see it very early on in a game. I know we only lost 3 games this year, but what happens every time? Poor play from Romo. And even against Buffalo and the Jets, he somehow turned the poor play out and performed for just a bit and our defense held them the ENTIRE game and we were able to pull out a win. But look at the Philly game. 10-3. He couldnt get one touchdown. He just couldnt pull it together. The defense held them nice and tight. And usually, if all we have to do is score 11 points, its game over.

Here's to hoping Romo catches fire at the right times. And we know he can play big in big games. Green Bay was a PERFECT example. Boyhood hero, NFC dominance, etc etc, and he played okay. Technically Favre gave us the game, but still....

The Cowboys are nothing like the Mavs. Come on man, stop worrying.

I co-sign on one hand, but seeing him do against Washington what he did just two weeks earlier against Philly is a concern. Under and overthrowing wide open receivers and forcing balls into double coverage constantly. I thought he grew out of this problem last year and I believe him when he says he's focused and making football his #1 priority, but it appears Romo has lost his mojo.:

To be fair to Romo, even at his worst, he's still giving us the best chance to win.

Earlier in that game yesterday, Spears hit Collins - sack/fumble we didn't recover. That could've changed the game.

Hamlin then intercepts the ball, but Alan Ball interferes for no reason - that could've changed the game

The INT on Glenn was bogus, cause later on in the game, the exact same play happened with Henry, and was yet called on Henry, but not Springs. - That could've changed the game

Austin drops 2 TD passes, and Brad underthrew 1 TD pass to Austin - those could've changed the game

Cooley catches the ball 5 yards short of the 1st down on a 3rd and 8, and Roy let's Cooley drive right through him to get the 1st down, it would've been 4th down right there - that could've changed the game.

Romo is fine, let's get our concentration in order, scheme well for who ever we play, get all of our guns out, and then we'll see... But I don't see the Mavs in the Cowboys at all.

For the first time all year, Terry Glenn will be playing with Owens, Crayton and Witten on the front line. Don't underestimate Gurode coming back. Our offense has been off track since he left and Bigg has had to help Proctor with double teams.

Those two major reasons are why there will be much less pressure on Romo and he/the running game will get back on track when the playoffs come around to Dallas.

The last three games are not indicative of what the Cowboys offense can do because they have not had all of their players in there.

No worries mate!

Lemme get this straight....

When our QB plays well we win and when he doesn't we lose?

Novel concept there.

hotdog neck... that's one funny name!!!!:lmao2:

I got it from Gordon Keith years ago on the Ticket. He was talking about guys that are so fat the back of their necks look like a package of hotdogs. I laughed for about 10 minutes and adopted it.

Happy New Years everyone, and thanks for talking me off the doomsday ledge! Keep going though, im not 100 percent convinced. But like anything else, we dont really know what we have until it hits the road. If we win the NFC, we are real. I dont expect to beat a 16-0 AFC team in the bowl.

Maybe it's because they both are named Dallas?

Stephen Jackson has Dirk's nads in a jar on his coffee table... that's why the "MVP" failed last year.

Nobody has Romo's nads on their coffee table... we'll be fine. :)

Yes if Dallas loses in the Divisional playoff game it will go down as one of the biggest chokes in Dallas History right up there with the mavs i.m.o. Romo would also be labeled as a guy who can't get it done in the playoffs. Right up there with all the good qbs who had great regular season success but when the playoffs rolled around never could get over the hump. Theres alot riding into this game. If Dallas loses some of us will wonder if we'll ever win a playoff game again. Some qb's just can't get it done when playoff time rolls around. I'm also tired of hearing all the pple using t.o. will be out as an excuse. Someone needs to step up & if it means throwing Isiah in there at w.r. in place of owens then so be it cause hurd and austin don't have the physical presence owens has. Isiah is the closest you're gonna get to owens body wise. Now did he learn to run routes yet? You gotta find out sometime. Good coaches roll the dice sometimes and it works and sometimes it costs you. If owens is out i say go for it. Give the kid his confidence. It's time to see what he has. I do believe Owens will be ready though.

We could have won the Philthy game if 1) Redball had gotten his head out of his butt and run the ball more; and 2) if Wade had wised up and pulled Romo when he injured his thumb. The D was playing great that game/
