Why do we continue to enable these headcases?

It's on Jerry Jones. This will continue to occur until he steps down (which he will not). It feels as if Jerry's son will follow his path as well after he is gone.

Define continue to enable. Vast majority of Cowboys great dudes and a great chunk of them have been captains in their playing days before arriving to Valley Ranch.

I get the frustration. No need to exaggerate or fabricate.

Poor drafting, poor free agent decisions, leads to questionable players getting opportunities here.

Alonzo Spellman, Dimitrius Underwood, TO, Pacman, Tank Johnson, and now McClain and Gregory.

Jerry's legacy: Short cuts and mediocrity on the field, but #1 on Forbes most valuable list.

Whether you like it or not...i'm pretty sure Three-time Super Bowl winner is going on his tombstone as well.

and if that's good enough for him, he's even sadder than I think he is.

I would think the GM's of today' team would like to go back to the Super Bowl and have an actual plan for trying to accomplish that. I'm sure Bill Belichick is perfectly content with pass success.

McClain's salary was per game and based on workout bonuses. He basically gets paid squat and if we cut him we are absent dead money. Nevermind that he is doing this in Alabama away from Drew Hill and the program.

DLaw is on a rookie salary as is Gregory.

I think this 'enablement' mindset is baseless and simply an emotional response.

It's nice to know that Gregory who is more important to the defense was slandered as opposed to the alternative.

McLain I don't really care about. Now we werent setting good expamles by having him around, but he cost no draft picks and was cheap, so there isn't much set back either way. He was sort of dude you have around or you don't, coin flip.

Our two defense ends, well we have spent good draft 2nd round picks on. They are setting back the team because now we're gonna have to dip back into the draft for de. Lawerance in still have some hope for, Gregory I do not and never really did.

I'm not sure what you think is true or how anyone 'enabled' anything. How about holding McClain responsible? He's the one dodging VR to go and get high in Alabama.

We are the ones that have had no issue mysteriously allowing him to disappear "for family reasons" around this time every year. No? Have I not seen this pattern? Am I blind?

The Gregory rumor was a lie. He's being tested constantly now and is clean.

Alonzo Spellman and Dimitrius Underwood were on the street in Chicago and Minnesota. They had no issues in Texas. Bad example.

Pacman turned his life around starting here. Piss poor example that leads to the opposite conclusion that you are going for.

Tank Johnson had guns in Chicago. It was against the law there but here in Texas there is a significantly different outlook. He had no issues here.

I'll give you TO, although he had some extremely productive years before imploding, and McClain, whose contract means he isn't being paid squat because of the conditionals placed in it.

There were other headcases too like Haley, Irvin, and Lett. How about them?

We have no power in this circumstance. I get the feeling you are projecting here tbh.

Gosselin's new piece addresses this question head on. Jerry "The Gambler" Jones likes to take chances on talent/on field potential regardless of potential off field issues.
