So Hollywood is losing its rear end these days. Not near as many huge blockbuster movies. Revenue in general is down. Many theater chains are in huge financial trouble.
I figure we have a pretty good demographics representation here.
I know what Hollywood says, but I'm curious why YOU personally not go the movies as much? Or maybe you do.
My reason would be I have no problem waiting a few months for the DVD on my big screen and home theater system. Yeah, I don't get the same experience as the movie theater, but it's still a nice watch, and being with my own food, in my own home, eliminates any disadvantages. Plus, theaters are so expensive these days, I save money just buying a DVD at its opening sale price. Best Buy, Walmart, Circuit City and the rest of 'em charge about $15 for a new movie, that's about what I pay just for me with a ticket, drink and popcorn. There's a lot of crap coming out of Hollywood these days too. Most movies just don't look like pieces that are "must watch now."
