Why do you remain a fan?

Way too much nostalgia for me. A lot of great moments as well. The grubby old man is not the Dallas Cowboys. I will always be fan no matter what. And just think, if they ever get back to a superbowl and win one, wow all those suck years will make it even sweeter.

It has been super frustrating continuing to be a fan of the Cowboys with Jerry’s hard headed failure over these years and his refusal to hire a GM. The CAP has destroyed what it used to mean to be a team as we lose players we come to love on a regular basis but I suppose that is reality for all teams and fans. The Jerry fiasco and failures constantly bring about replacement coaches so what is there to love? The Jones family? The Star? The uniforms? I am not fromTexas so it’s not that.

For me I guess it is nostalgia and never end gullibility to hope for the best. I also like the cheerleaders which is what brought my young self to love the cowboys at the age of 7! Watching Roger Staubach in his prime was also a bonus.

How about you? Why do you hold on to hope and keep supporting the Jones family which is what the Cowboys really are these days.
I started watching in 62. I love the Cowboys. Dont like Jones family.

I remain a fan because me life would be empty otherwise.

I’ve often heard it said that the older a person is the more they are resistant to change. Old is ME - and I can’t see myself moving on to another team. And I loathe ‘frontrunners’. I often catch myself judging other football fans - say they’re wearing Patriots gear - and I wonder to myself ‘How long you been with them? Since the moment they became an oddsmakers’ darling?’ I’ve become both old AND cynical.

I'm 25 years in at this point.... Even if I wanted to switch, there's no way I could mentally force myself to care about another team.

Sunk cost.
I can talk crap about 4 decades of Cowboys football.
Caring less about the Cowboys leaves me caring less about the NFL.
Why bother changing teams at this point?

I remain a fan because I'm loyal to the team I love.
Over the years I've become disillusioned because of Jerry but I still love the Cowboys.
I could never have another favorite nfl team but I can enjoy watching some teams.

My fandom has nothing to do with this current group. Tex Schramm, Tom Landry, etc. These men, along with players during that period, are the reason for my fandom.

Although I am old enough to have been a fan in the 70s the Cowboys were really on top a lot in that decade. I’m not really a front running team type of fan.

I became a fan of the team when Jerry bought the team when Jerry tore it down to the studs and started over. I was glad to be a part of the fanbase during the rebuilding period.

It was so sweet watching those early 90s teams after watching the rebuild. I guess I have been watching a “rebuild” since 1995. That’s a bit too long of a rebuild for my taste.

Because I have no idea what else to do but remain a fan.

Support another team? never!!

Exactly, other "favourites" of mine include the Broncos, Colts, Bears, and Browns, but none of them come close to my fandom for the Cowboys.
