Why is there so many people blaming the defense? Quincy Carter had a hell of alot less to work with but he always got blamed when the defense gave up 13 points and we lost. Hmmmmmmm, even as the president of the Quincy Carter Haters Club I just don't get this crap.

who's blaming the defense?

they are kicking *** and taking names. look at the points and 3rd down % the last 3 games. amazing job.

clearly, the offense needs more touchdowns. and less piss poor throws in critical situations.

that said, i think bledsoe is doing a hell of a job, overall.

we'll be ok.

Who's blaming the defense? You're kidding right? Is this the first post you've read in a couple of days? Why is Bledsoe getting a free pass? I really would like to know.

I for one have been critical of the Cowboys defense. However, I have not given Bledsoe a pass. He stunk.

The hot hand was the defense and they choked when they could have bailed out the pathetic offensive display.

Things are not always 50-50 in the NFL. Sometimes your O has to bail out your D and the other way around.

Just like the offense should not have had to score 34 points to beat San Fran, but they did.

Unbelievable that holding the #1 rated offense to 13 points is choking. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Drew Bledsoe gave the *** game away but the defense choked. Unbelievable.

I thought the kicker gave the game away. Then the defense. Then Drew.

It wasn't the defense that failed to capitalize on three turnovers.

I give him a pass because he has been a real plus to this team until that game.

He was entitled to a bad game. Cortez, Parcells, late game defense, and our offensive line deserve blame for us even being in that situation.

As far as Carter goes....when did he ever have a 95 rating this deep into a season?

Everyone's blaming the defense because it has shut teams down for 57 minutes of three games and then given up big plays to let the opposition go ahead or tie the game up in the closing minutes. To me, it's frustrating and painful but I sure as heck don't blame the defense. I don't even blame the kicking game, and I don't single Bledsoe out either. The truth of the matter is that those games should have been well out of reach by the fourth quarter, and there's plenty of blame to go around: Offensive penalties that negate big plays. Interceptions. Fumbles. Balls dropped by receivers. Too many sacks. Predictible playcalling in the red zone and more than a couple of questionable game day coaching decisions. Cortez missed a 29-yardeo andaBledsoe threw the grandaddy of bad interceptions, but it shouldn't have mattered. I'm not saying that the Boys should have been up by 21, but the team squandered many an opportunity to be up a lot more than they were.

Hmmmm....Let me think.

Road game. Freezing cold. Pouring rain. Pressure from Seattle. Wet ball. That good enough? If you take a look Hasslebeck had just as bad of a day. Cortez lost it for us. Early in the game before everything was wet and crappy Bledsoe took us on a lengthy scoring drive with a beautiful pass to Key. Get lost.

I dont know how many times it needs to be said, but the offense stunk. It stunk. It stunk.

The defense had an opportunity to BAIL out the offense (in other words make up for the offense deficiencies), but they did not.

I think Bledsoe had a bad game and made a horrendous decision.

That said I think its rather obvious the game was moreso lost by the coaches passive play calling all around and especially in red zone. Cortez missing a cheap shot. Defense blowing it and giving up a 81 yard drive to tie it.

No lack of scapegoats. That was a team loss! Coaches included.

I think it is foolish to blame the defense really... I mean, our offense sits on their hands, and the kicker needs some subscription lenses. The offense gets a lead, and then that it, they sit on it. It is almost like that is the gameplan, to get ahead of the opponent and then blah for an offensive gameplan.

I think we need to pull out the philly gameplan and study it. You start early and don't quit scoring until the janitor has gone home... jees, other than the philly game, it has been that

defense cannot bail out the offensive juggernaut forever...

No, they played a great great game until the last two minutes. Harp on the offense all you want I concede they sucked.

Deny it all you want or spin it all you want. Dallas had the lead with two minutes to go and Dallas D picked the worst time they could to give up a touchdown.

Dont tell me a thing about the O, I know they sucked. I expected the D to bail out the O.

It happens every year to every team. One unit will bear the burden of winning the game for an underperforming unit.

Dallas D had a chance to do this, but did not.

Hell of a job?

In 4 games out of 7 we've scored 16 points or less.

The defense did bail out the offense though. The defense was great all day, and they provided 3 turnovers (okay, one was special teams). The defense gave up one touchdown, it happens. If the 3 turnovers didn't provide a means of bailing the offense out, what would've? Was the defense supposed to bail us out when Seattle kicked the 50 yard field goal that our offense handed to them?

The defense has given up 2 touchdowns in the last 44 of our opponents possessions. Factor in the turnovers they create, and if that's not bailing out our offense, what is?!

I blame Cortez and the conservative playcalling.

I don't think Bledsoe got much of a pass this week; about every article I read hung a lot of the blame on his door. In fact tho the pass protection clearly qualified his diastrous outing, the question is already being raised if DB is about to revisit his past history, and revert to his old form after six or seven games.

Another Sunday of stalled drives, failure to benefit from defensive turnovers, forced passes, not seeing open receivers, picks and/or fumbles, and scores so low the defense has to play like the 2000 Ravens for us to win, the storm gates will open.

Pitchforks are being sharpened as we speak. :)
