Off the field Jerry is a Rock Star. On field history, he's just a rock. A very uninteresting rock.

So Jerry and Stephen think they are NFL GMs that are capable of building a team, evaluating talent, signing free agents and everything that involves building a championship roster

Besides being billionaires what makes them believe they can do this?

30 years of history is in the books now…
Delusional thinking is a family trait.

Narcissism isn't just some word.

They truly think that they are smarter than everyone else.

It's a unique situation, as one typically cannot buy or intimidate every media outlet...allowing the ego trip to take place in comfort. Jerry seems to have pulled that off.

THAT and the fact they don't hire anyone who tells them anything different. They live in a bubble of adulation. Jerry controls the media by weaponizing his money and influence. Its hard to be a cowboy beat writer when you aren't given access to the team. So, most all the media criticism come from people who post anonymously on chat boards. Even former players like troy and Tony romo dance around questions about Jerry. Nobody will call him out as incompetent and delve into the details of how soft and insecure the front office really is and how that trickles down to the teams they put on the field.

Jimmy Johnson is the one exception, but even he sugar coats it. I was hoping Parcels would write a book but I'm pretty sure he signed an NDA upon his departure.

Why do fans that have no idea the inner workings of running an NFL team think they know better.

Because fans have 25 years of proof that Jerry and Stephen have failed at building rosters and hiring quality coaches that consistently compete for championships.

They have 3 playoff wins in 25 years. It's amazing how the homers act like that's perfectly normal. It's hard to describe just how inept that is. There are only a small, very small, handful of teams with more futility over the last 25 years.

Personally I'd rather have you running the team, and it's not particularly close.

Yep....all true.

One day, somehow, we are gonna find out exactly how ridiculous this period of time was behind the scenes. Someones hush money won't be enough. Already seeing signs of that.

Meanwhile I wonder if like the Chargers owner, whoever that even is....will get on the phone with a draft pick over which number they will wear.

The stuff we DO know is absurd.

I'd easily pay 500 bucks for a Dalrymple tell all book. Maybe more. Wonder how many millions Jerry gave him as a parting gift while he disrespected the daughter in front of the world and grinned. I'm sure that was sweet revenge for plenty of situations.

You'd love me until I picked a kicker in the 2nd round just to watch this board explode.
I'd argue it's not as egregious an act as drafting a TE in the 2nd while you have a hall of famer in his prime at TE1.

Not once....nope, not even twice...yes, three times!

Darymple was Jerry right hand man for the past 25 years. Jerry only got rid of him b/c he had to after the situation he thought he had buried came to light. I'm not sure if the Charlotte story is believable or that Jerry bought it. I'm sure that if Jerry thought Bruce was taking up skirt pics of Charlotte that he would not have got anything. Its different when its your kid. Jerry didn't give a rats hiney about the cheerleader incident. Hell, Bruce probably shared them with Jerry on one of their afternoon benders

There are 30 other owners that also own a team but understand the limitations of their football knowledge and hire professionals to make roster and coaching decisions.
Jerry thinks he is a FB guy, just because he played in college and owns the team. He's delusional.

jerry has no limitations. I didn't read the whole thread but I bet one of jerry's hero worshipers must have said, "if you don't like it, you should buy the team"? or one of the dak lovers' slogans, "if you don't like it find another team"?

Well Jerry played college football and I belive was on a championship team - he was the GM that won 3 super bowls

right now the problem is Stephen. Jerry would have never sat tight in free agency.

I bet it was Spalding, aka pizza face boy. he told grandpa, don't do anything gramps, the fans will blame my fathead dad. while Charlotte was in her room putting makeup on her jerry face. pinhead junior wasn't seen. he was probably looking at photos dumbryple had taken. gene was modeling her baggy butt jeans alone in her bedroom.

and jerry, he was setting in the living room looking at the mailbox waiting on his shipment of viagra

"How bout dem Cowboys!"

After 26 years of futility? No, the problem is Jerry.

Yeah, this is not exactly true and you know it. Jimmy Johnson was an integral part of the building of those teams. It's not a coinidence that once he left and the teams he helped build got older that the fortunes of the franchise changed under Jerry solely.
