forgive me for rehashing something that has been stated on this site, but im just curious why so many people in the media and elsewhere scapegoat other players and give Romo a free pass.
Everyone wants to blame a WR, because he is a "diva". Big deal. All Owens wants to do is win. If the Cowboys had more players as competitive as Owens, they would be in much better shape. The guy played in the superbowl with a broken leg for chrisssake (while Romo sat out three weeks with a bad pinkie)
There is obviously plenty of blame to go around, but Romo's hully gully attitude on the field and off of it is the biggest reason for the choking down the stretch the past few seasons. Yes, I know it took some other all-star QBs time. Sure Romo can turn it around...but im talking about right now, Romo is not getting it done. The QB for the Cowboys needs to be accountable.
I dont give a crap about his season stats. His stats are better than Aikman's but Romo is not in the same league as Aikman. Romo is the anti-Aikman. Troy was an efficient machine, while Romo is hully gully. Troy was competitive and accountable, while Romo does not project such an attitude.
Like I said, Romo can turn it around, but right now he is fool's gold. The Cowboys will not win a superbowl with him as a franchise QB unless he becomes a leader.
and yes, Jason Garrett is probably one of the worst offensive coordinators in the league. He loses most chess matches that he gets in with defensive coordinators...but that doesnt excuse Romo's performance as the "franchise QB"
