Your point is well received. Dez does work hard to sculpt his Adonis-like body. That doesn't equate to being in football shape.
Exactly. Thank you

People on this forum are the only ones I've seen routinely question his conditioning.Your point is well received. Dez does work hard to sculpt his Adonis-like body. That doesn't equate to being in football shape.
No...I don't think he has...the wasn't the point of my original post nor was it something I reinforced at any point throughout the thread...you took it to a whole other place by deciding to troll instead of engage in a reasonable dialogue/debate...NOW, if you had said that the main reason Dez discontinued return duties was his diminished stats (and issues with ball security in 2011 and 2012) wasn't providing the production to justify the risk as a featured returner, then I'd have said good point and tipped my cap. HOWEVER, what you did is take the argument to a personal attack about not paying attention, blah blah blah. Whatever makes you puff out your chest bro and feel better about yourself...
Seriously? You've never seen Dez retreat to the locker room mid-game with cramps to get an I.V. ? He does it quite often.People on this forum are the only ones I've seen routinely question his conditioning.
Again Dez has played 97 professional regular season games. How many times has he had hydration issues?
I seem to recall Dez making huge plays in Greenbay late into the game. Did he do that despite being in poor shape?
Don't take things so personal. I wasn't attacking you. I just honestly don't understand why there is even a question as to why he hasn't been asked to do it. To me it has nothing to do with coaching philosophy or trying to debate if he should because A. Brown in Pittsburgh does. I honestly don't think there is anything worth reasoning/debating about when it comes to Dez returning punts. He hasn't been asked to do it because he can't be counted on to handle both duties effectively. Period. Seems really simple from the way I see it. I'm sorry I'm not attacking you or anyone when I say this, and you can disagree or call it trolling or a personal attack or whatever but I just feel that anyone who knows anything about Dez and the cowboys should know the reason why in about 2 seconds flat. If you see things differently then fine, go ahead and debate or reason to your hearts content. I salute your effort in the middle of the off season when there isn't much to talk about, but in this case I believe you're trying to make this into a philosophical debate when the reasoning is elementary.
T1D...so you were against us using Deion in that capacity back in the day? And Mike Tomlin is wrong to use AB in that roll? I mean, not even in a spot duty type of situation? Never? Never ever???You don't have your star players return kicks.
Brah...again with the scope drift on the argument...the original question wasn't whether a pre-injury Dez could be both a #1 WR as well as a primary punt returner. I agree that I would never have Dez (injuries or not) back there fielding every punt say the way Deion did it back in his day. What I asked was why we never even used him situationally since 2012...not even once. Handling punt return duties and being brought in to field a punt or two here and there are very different animals. You keep wanting to make the discussion about the former...and OF COURSE we're not debating THAT!?! smh...yes...as you say...THAT would be a completely absurd conversation. My references to AB and other marquee skill players serving as primary returners was NOT to assert that we should follow suit with Dez. I was merely pointing out that OTHER teams use stars in that role without fearing risk of injury...so it would go to figure that (when he's healthy), Dez could be considered a strategic option in the right game situations...sort of how we used Terrance Newman when he became firmly established as our #1 corner. So, I am asking nicely, please stop making the terms of this debate/discussion about something that it's not...I mean what you're doing is tantamount to arguing against veganism when I merely made a comment that I am going to try and eat more vegetables.
That's cute how you keep saying brah. Must be a California thing trying to sound all young and cool. Good luck with all that.
The reason why he hasn't been asked to do it as a "strategic option or in the right game situation" to use your words, is the same reason why he doesn't do it full time. Based on his history and the cast around him it simply is not worth the risk. Even as a "strategic option or in the right game situation". Would I like to see him do it as a "strategic option or in the right game situation"? Yes I would. But I understand completely why they don't and again the reasoning is pretty basic. Do you really not understand the reasoning as to why they don't even as a "strategic option or in the right game situation"? It's not that hard to figure out why.
I never said it has never happened. I'm aware it is happened rarely. You were able to give me 3 examples. Two of the examples are from 2011. One is from 2012. In one example both Dez and Darrelle Revies briefly left the game due to cramps. In another example Dez missed a grand total of six snaps.Seriously? You've never seen Dez retreat to the locker room mid-game with cramps to get an I.V. ? He does it quite often.

I just googled "Dez Bryant cramps" and posted the first 3 links that popped up. There are plenty more examples. He get's an I.V. almost every game. Most games he's able to wait until halftime. He's not shy about it, it's not a secret. I'm not even making this an argument, just telling you the facts, bro. If you choose to deny it then that's on you. lolI never said it has never happened. Of all the things to potentially come at Dez for his conditioning is probably the most asinine. I'd be embarrassed to be trying to make this argument.

Let's track Dez's cramps this season.I've heard both Michael Irvin and Drew Pearson question his conditioning.
I think questioning Dez conditioning throughtout his career has always been justified to be honest. He may look the part physically but I don't think he's ever proven to be a model of 'football conditioning'.
