...3 of the 5 highest, single-game rushing totals, in Cowboys HISTORY! belong to Julius

JJ has injury issues, he can have eyepopping talent but if he's always in the training room he doesnt help us at all. Barber had every bit, in fact probably a better college career than JJ, he's more than capable. Mark it down, If JJ goes down for an extended period than its Barbers job...PERIOD. Plus, like I said, he's the better blocking back, something hugely important in a twin t.e offense.
..........I know, its just that ive NEVER been a guy who's loyal to a player. NEVER. Im loyal to the team. Whoever is best is who I wanna see on Sundays. If that happens to be JJ I wont be dissapointed at all. But I still think in the end its Barber....Alexander said:You had to know you were going to get backlash when you make a bold statement like that. Despite there being some minor evidence that we are less than completely enchanted with Jones (the trade rumors on draft day, the Marcel Shipp interest), you have to be prepared for people to beat you up about it. And even though you made a point about the power nature of the offense, it is likely that it will be ignored.

...It wasnt that Jones was a terrible blocker or bad at picking up the blitz, "although he wasnt that good either" it was that Barber was VERY good at it. Just one of Barbers strong points is all. Ive seen it with my own eyes plus many times the announcers talked about it during games. It was just pretty much common knowledge that Barber excelled at pass blocking/blitz pickupSilver Bullet said:Yo Avenging Hayseed
On what grounds do you base your claim that Barber is the better blocker!?
I have yet to hear Parcells complain about Jones' blocking ability or missing blocks. If it was such an issue why don't we hear about it from the man in charge of detecting such flaws, and one who isn't known to be shy about calling them out either.
If Julius Jones can go out and produce over a 16 game schedule than im all for him. If he cant than I wont be, simple as that. One or 2 huge games a year, a couple average ones, and a couple below average ones doesnt make a running back, not by a long shot. TRULY great rb's are consistant, they produce over a 16 GAME SCHEDULE........In other words, I'll take the guy who consistanty gets 95 yards a gme and occationally goes off for BIG YARDS over the guy who occationally goes off for big yards but spends the rest of the season either being average or hurt. Being consistant....THATS the key to winning big .Silver Bullet said:
If what you said is true then your obvious pick for the OVERALL better RB sould automatically be Julius Jones and not Barber.
Barring injury, Julius is a much better RB.
WOW, Jujo must REALLY sukk then...LOL All I know is that Barber had better numbers than Jujo did in college. ALOT BETTER....burmafrd said:You are also talking about someone that could not be the full time starter in his own school- and lasted untill the 3rd round was half over+. He just ain't got it.
