I'm right there with you. They will be more willing to just sling the ball up because they are so nervous they will get sacked. Hate the Prevent.

I sat here thinking the same thing today. Their D just comes at you. We need to use some of their Blitz packages.

That's how winners play. Aggressive defense is the way to win!! That's why we need a different defensive coordinator. Zimmer has always called a soft defense even before Parcells got here.

We don't have the schemes that free the blitzers up. Every time we blitz, the blitzers get caught up at the line of scrimmage.

Until we can figure out how to create lanes to the QB, we shouldn't blitz in key situations because it is suicide.

They flood one side most of the time. Plus, they have natural pass rushers in the LB core unlike us (Just Ware)

Last time I checked we don't have Farrior, Porter, or Hagans.

Furthermore, we haven't been in the 3-4 for 15 plus years like the Steelers.

Plus, outside of Tnew and Henry (when he's healthy) we can't cover guys like Harrison and Wayne.

This is spot on in my opinion, the scheme. Zimmer really likes to bring the heavy heat up the middle, but if you notice, it is easy to figure out who is blitzing and I can figure it out on the couch, the boys on the sideline and in the offensive line can figure out. He has trouble disguising his schemes and blitzing.

He as alot better at it in 2003, but that was probably because 4-3 is something he knows.

I would like to see Zimmer go study under the Broncos and Skins Coordinators for the Summer :D .

Dallas has only been in the scheme for a year. Pit has been doing this for years under Cowher.

Plus the LB's are better pass rushers than James and Dat were. Maybe next year with Burnett, James, Fujita and Ware we can play a little more up tempo defense like Pit's.

Well they have players that can actually defeat blockers - they dont get STONED at the LOS. Makes it a lot easier to call a aggressive game when your players are getting to the QB.

What kinda lame excuse is that???? The 3-4 is all about confusing the QB as to who is comin at him and mixin up blitz. I just can not believe the excuses for Zimmer. Geez.

And that falls on Mike Zimmer and Bill Parcells.

Our blitzes are easy to identify and block and the rushers almost always come from the outside.

Some of it does fall on having the right players, but good coaches should be able to design plays that make up for not having the ideal players, IMO.

I've never expected it from Zim because it simply isn't one of his strengths.

Parcells, on the other hand, I truly expected to have an impact on our blitz packages because of his history with the 3-4.

Aaron Glenn should be included in this list, IMO.

He was a wonderful free agent signing who solidified the nickel defense and he also replaced Amp Henry late in the season due to injury with little dropoff in production.

Every defense needs a player like Glenn, IMO.

we dont have a good DC that's why. lebeau knows how to confuse people with his 3-4, Zimmer get's fooled just trying to use the 3-4.

We dont go up against Harrison and Wayne often. AZ and Raiders are and maybe 1 or two other teams have twin threats, (do you consider Detroit with the injuries?).

We should be more agressive then we are.
