Why don't we run a lead draw?

Forgot about Julius Jones. A lot of RBs came through here. MB, Murray and Zeke was the only ones that had some worth.

Jones was good. Had some wiggle and speed. When he left Dallas, he had three of the teams top 10 game RB performances.
Parcells passed on Steven Jackson and drafted Jones. After his rookie season, Parcells wanted him to run more inside,
essentially trying to turn him into a RB like Jackson.

Why can't we have a play that worked so well for Emmitt, for Zeke. Lead draw is great play.

Because we really only run gap calls in the RZ and the draw doesn't fool anyone down there; if the DE don't bite there is no crease. Between the 20's we have been a ZBS scheme since 2013.

it is possible that we see a return to more man calls with the new OL coach.

Honesty, we really aren't going to truly get a good grasp of what they want until the season starts.

A conundrum for us and for Defensive Coordinators, for a minute.

This is going to be a very interesting season.

Member the counter play they used to run all the time with Felix. Qb turns right eb starts right then goes left and qb turns with him and hands the ball off. That play would be nice for Zeke too. 100% agree with the lead draw.

How often does Dak line up under center? It'll be less of a surprise than it was in the Emmitt days, when Troy was under center a lot.

Can't really run it if you're in shotgun most of the time.

I find it funny fans are complaining about the Cowboys running game, as if there is a notable deficiency. Things change in the NFL all the time, but the key is whether a team can be successful at whatever they are doing at the moment. With a healthy, available Zeke, the team is, and will continue to l be, successful running the ball in the Cowboys offense.

When fans are discontented, it's like water trying to find it's way through a rock. It isn't enough that there are obvious causes for why the team hasn't advanced. They want to try every permutation of players and play calling to find issues. And it all starts with offense because, by default, people think their team is as good as its offense because they subconsciously know the team with more points wins. So if you lose, it's because you didn't score more points, by default.
