The Dallas Cowboys are focused this week on defensive linemen at the Senior Bowl. They need pass-rush help. The Cowboys want the “right kind of guys,” and one that stays after practice to get extra work in seems to fit that mantra.
Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Kikaha led the nation last season with 19 sacks.

If we used him the way Seattle uses Bruce Irvin I think he would work out...

Irvin 6-3/248
Kikaha came in just under 6-3 and weighed 246 lbs yesterday.

I'm not so sure that Brandon George knows as much about football as half the members here at CZ.

He could be right about Kikaha, but IMO that would fall more in line with a blind squirrel finding a nut than any real ability to figure out who Dallas wanted.

His snippet about Marinelli looking at DT Phillips from Oklahoma seems way off base to me.

He probably picked that up from Kiper who mocked Phillips to the 'Boys.

Seems a little light in the britches for what Rod wants in his DE's.

Kikaha lost weight to play 3-4 OLB in 2014. The years before he played at 255-265 as a 4-3 DE. Marinelli likes guys who are all day suckers who know how to get to the QB. Kikaha is that kind of guy to a "T".

Doubt it, besides the short arms and two surgeries to the same knee ,they said he looked lost in coverage yesterday at practice. Scouts thought he looked like a better fit in a 3-4.

He has problems in coverage so he's a better fit as a 3-4 OLB. Makes sense.

Do you want your 4-3 end in coverage?

The only DE in this draft I'd rather have is Dupree. Kikaha played with his hand on the ground in 2013 and recorded 46 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 3 batted passes, and 3 forced fumbles. His #s were even more impressive in 2014 while standing up in a 3-4, but he's said himself that coverage is not his thing and he wants to rush the QB. He's a violent player.

To light and short arms. Looks like a true 34 OLB only. I doubt dallas has any interest.

He'll learn not to call himself a tweener. You're versatile. Tweener means you don't really have a position. It doesn't mean you can play both, it means you might not be able to play either.

Jay Ratliff was supposed to be a tweener when he was in the draft.

I dont want to use anyone like Irvin. Irvin is useless. I watch seattle games I hardly ever see him making any plays.
This Kikaha kid just doesn't fit anywhere on our scheme.
Best fifit is a 34 OLB or in a wide 9 DE so he can just fire off the line wide.

Both about the same player. True 34 OLB or wide 9 DE. Niether a fit in this scheme. Just IMO. They only relie on quickness and struggle with hand in the dirt. Also Kikaha injury history scares me away.

I think Rod goes into this draft looking for a SDE after getting his WDE last year...I know we need more than 1 pass rusher besides Lawrence, but I don't think it's going to be 1st round priority unless someone they love is on the board.

If we can get someone like Owa, Flowers, or Preston Smith to play opposite of Lawrence with Crawford creating havoc in the middle we are on our way to having a nice young D line. We can add rotational players through free agency and mid-late rounds. No need to force a 1st round pick on a WDE...especially an undersized one with a history of knee injuries.
