Can someone explain what Jimmy Brown is doing there?

I think I can.

He knew Thomas had as much ability as he had. Brown was always an ego maniac and I truly believe he submarined Thomas' career out of jealousy. He certainly didn't provide sage wisdom and leadership. And how terribly disrespectful was it of him to cut off the interview as is Thomas was a puppet under his control?

I hear what your saying, but IMO if Jim Brown was Duane's only problem he would have been fine. The man had real problems and that was obvious.

Quite sure he did.

I'm a sure there are some Cowboy players today with rather huge issues. I think Calvin Hill has probably done a great job with them.

And I think a young man like Thomas can be VERY impressionable...and especially when a guy like Jim Brown has his ear. Not saying Brown was the only problem...but he surely was of no help.

I'd thought you were going to say you hate him because of his performance in:

"I'm Gonna Get You Sucka"

or for that ugly *** beret he is always wearing...

Brooksheir's interview with Duane Thomas and Jim Brown was a disaster! Talk about awkward!

It was worse than Chris Myers interview with Belichik after this year's SB! :lmao2:

Excuse your ignorance. That's called a kufi.

Kufi's come in all sorts of colors and shapes... How does that change the fact that it is still ugly?

I met Duane a couple years ago and he is not like you see him in that video.
He went to the local college where I live and come down for an autograph signing. Whatever problems he had back then are way behind him now.
He was easy to talk to as we had his ear for about a good full 10 minutes.
Some guys fame doesn't last as long as it should but I still consider Thomas as great Dallas Cowboy legend...however brief it was.

Yeah, I was about to mention that he's also widely considered to be the greatest lacrosse player ever. Can you imagine staring down JB as he ran at you with a stick in his hands? Scarrrrrrrrrrrrrry! I'd just run the other way. :laugh2:

No... just no...

I'll leave it at that...

I DO want to know what Jim Brown thinks now in regards to Duane Thomas...

My guess is that he doesn't even know where he is...

Jim Brown is an ******...

Not even close.

Emmitt, Walter and Barry were all better than that old dried up punk. And I'm not just talkin' rushing yards either. Emmitt was the greatest ever IMO, and yes, I'm biased toward him. I'll tell ya this to, if Gayle Sayers had played longer he to would've been better than Brown IMO.

Jim Brown>>>>____________

You guys must really have it for Jim as a person to be foolish enough to downgrade him as a player.

Not saying he wasn't a great player. I just think 3 guys were greater and one, had he played a full career would've been greater.

The kind of numbers he put up in 14 and 12 game seasons is remarkable. Especially the average some of those seasons. Brown averaged 5.2 ypc in his career, the highest ever, and Emmitt averaged 4.2. Emmitt's highest rushing season of 1,773 yards in 16 games doesnt compare to Jim Brown going for 1,863 in 14 games.

I love Emmitt and he's a legend, but he's not in the class of Brown. I know some people, you included, may feel disrespected because of that, but it what it is.

I don't feel disrespected at all everone's gotta opinion. Mine is, I don't think Jim Brown would've done what Emmitt did in Emmitt's era, against guys bigger than him. It's hard to compare era's but Jim Brown was the bully in his era, bigger and faster than most defenders, he wouldn't have been that in the 80s, 90s or now, just my 2 cents.

That logic doesn't really make sense. Every decade the competition gets bigger, stronger, and faster. Jim was facing the best of the best in his time just like Emmitt faced the best of the best of his time. Brown couldn't help how superior he was to the competition.
