Why I'll be happy if the Eagles get Samuel and lose Sheppard

Hopefully Samuel doesn't wind up being a Cowboys killer, but if they do get rid of Sheppard, then they are definitely losing a Cowboys killer.

One quick look -- Sheppard has 8 INT's in his last 8 games against Dallas.

So if Reid and Co. want to send Sheppard elsewhere, they can be Tony Romo's guest.

Yeah at least I don't have to watch Lito get at least one pick a game every time he plays Dallas. :)

After watching Samuel's choke job during the final quarter of the SuperBowl...I'd be proud to see him in an Eagle's uni...lol. I just hope that they seriously over pay him.

That is not the plan. The eagles are smart and they are putting sheldon brown at safety.

No premiere safeties, no problem go get another outstanding corner and have another athlete at safety.

I just dont think sheppard is going anywhere.

This is good for us IMO, they are trading a proven cover guy for a CB that is still questioned about being a system player...I'll be happy if they make that move and expect Samuel to be a shut-down corner in man coverage....that's if Lito goes.

Hell, I wish we should get Lito.

As of right now, thought, they have both of them. This is in no way good news for us.

Samuel is a very good CB. I don't look forward to any of our opponents getting a player with 16 ints. the past two seasons. I don't know if I would say he "choked" in the Super Bowl. I do know that they would have had a much harder time getting there in the first place without him.

I would love to have Samuel if he wasn't so expensive. He is a proven playmaker.

I proven playmaker makes plays when it counts the most. He let an INT slip through his hands....and wasn't he the defender against Tyree on that incredible catch? He failed to show up as a playmaker when it counted most IMO.

I agree 100 percent Rich. You can argue all day long about who is the better player but there is no arguing what Sheppard has done to Dallas. That's the first thing I said when I head Samuel was going to Philly. By the way, it's going to be announced officially in a couple of hours I heard.

Appreciate the correction. Samuel was the one that stood there and watched Tyree hold the ball against his head.

is samuel to philly a done deal or is it just a rumor still?

It isn't "official" yet but like I said in my post last night, the source that told me is absolute 100 percent. I will literally jump off a bridge if it doesn't happen the source is so solid on this one. Someone at ESPN should be announcing it at any moment I would imagine.

Some guys do seem to rise up and smack us and Lito is one who does.

We've also had some interception-happy QBs during those four years (Vinny, Bledsoe, and Romo).

i don't see samuel as a good fit in philly. he is strictly as zone coverage corner and last i checked philly runs a lot of man to man.

I'll be happy if they sign him cause he's gonna cost an arm and a leg and I don't think that him at C.B. is gonna put them over the top to make a big difference anytime soon!
They need a top W.R. or TWO, Westbrook can only go for so long till injured, and McNabb isnt' gettin any younger, now had they sgined Randy Moss, then I'd be worrried that could make them a force next year, Samuel? not really!

Strictly zone guy?
He can do it all, zone, man to man, anything!
He's an all around great corner, but see my post above, he's not gonna put them over the top, Samuel will help, but for the cap hell he's gonna put on them and what he'll do for their team, I love them getting him, see above, had they signed someone like Moss, then I'd be worried, but they still only have an aging McNabb, NO W.R. worth a damn, and Westbrook is their only back!
