A popular, affable guy like Tony who is winning games for the most visible sports franchise in America can make an awful lot in endorsements and etc.

I know because he is dreamy with those eyes and dimples, Jerry is ga ga over him...and the magic eight ball told me so.:p:

Just kidding.

You are right. Jerry not only loves how he plays and what he brings to the team on the field. Jerry is a business man and he sees what Tony can bring in the marketing area for the team.

Jerry has been searching for the next Aikmen since he left.

While all the media has stammered "he's only started this many games or he's only done this or that"

You KNOW JJ knew after Tony came in against the GMen that he was the one. I did. You did. I called my buddy after that game and said we are set at QB for the next 10 yrs and he said you damn straight!

In terms of marketability, Tony surpasses troy IMO. Tony projects much more of the happy go lucky spirit that captures the buying public's imagination (and dollars).

Of course Jerry loves him. After years of the struggling QB's in the big D it's a marketers dream to have somone come in like this and have quick success.

Being the QB in Dallas is not just money in JJ's pocket, it's money in Tony's.

You better believe he's a marketing dream for the Cowboys and also for himself. Don't forget that in addition to selling Cowboy merchanise to American fans, Jerry's very also interested in selling to the Hispanic community of which Romo has ties.

Romo is a 3rd generation Mexican American on his father's side; his mother is of Polish-German descent. Family emigrated from Muzquiz, Coahuia, Mexico to San Antonio, Texas. He was born in 1980 in San Diego while his father was serving in the U.S. Navy. Romo was 2 years old when his family returned to Burlington, Wisconsin.

Honestly, if you remember what JJ said after Romo was inserted into the game, he was kinda depressed. Some remark even about the season being tanked, but not those words of course.

His comment was along the lines of "we might have a better chance to win with the experienced QB". Something like that.
