There are currently two themes going around that I absolutely detest:
First is the obsession with the clock.
You see it a lot on ESPN, and I just watched it with Foxs "Rapid Fire" segment . . .
One guy asks a question, and someone has to answer it while a clock ticks at the bottom of the screen. Its assinine.
Why does the clock need to be there? Just ask the question and let the guy answer it.
Especially considering that after the clock expires, the people are still talking about what the question was.
So its really pointless.
Are we, the audience, supposed to feel the pressure . . . "OH GOSH!!! Will Terry Bradshaw be able to answer with only 4 seconds left!!!!"
It's piped up, fictional drama and its ridiculous.
Second is the "Point/Counterpoint" things we see all over the place.
A moderator asks a question . . . and one guy argues for, while the other argues against.
The two never agree . . . always disagree . . . and you occasionally get an insult or personal attack thrown in there . . .
Its ridiculous as well.
Everyone who has common sense realizes that the two pick before hand what side they want to argue. And if they both agree . . . someone has to formulate an argument against what they believe.
I hate it.
Its stupid.
Just report the @#!%$!* sports and stop all the garbage!!!!!
