i guess because the plan was to have Mayowa play WDE and D Law to play SDE. So he bulked up.. But looking at recent photos he has a gut. And he's not had same burst this year. Thoughts?
He did get bigger because he was intended to play LDE In the Marinelli's scheme the LDE is more like a 5-tech whereas the RDE is a 7-tech.

Regardless of his weight... I, myself, am quite disappointed in his progress this year. He's had some nice games recently (read: pressures/he is quite the second half player), but he has no help, so I'll give him a mulligan.

We need to pair this dude up with someone. He isn't a game breaker, but he's a hell of a complimentary piece.
Yep, just like some guys are number two WRs. Is what it is.

He is fine if he stays at SDE. Plays the run well and gives a little something on the pass rush. Not fine if playing the weakside. Definitely would let Tank test FA and not lock him down to a contract.

Not having Hardy made a big impact.....he took down Gregory, DLaw and TCrawford all by himself....lol

Actually....I think it's a combination of two factors.
  1. He bulked up so he could play LDE, which is traditionally a little bigger for ur stopping and such
  2. Back issues have limited his workouts and fitness. Romo got a little plumper once he had done back issues to deal with. Back issues mess with your core as well.

He's also dealt with a bad back all year as well. Back problems are tough!

All of that down time he spent sitting around in the offseason and here lately to rest his bad back afforded way him too much time to pig out and get as soft as a roll of Charmin arsewipes. Hopefully, once his back regains its strength, he'll be able to recondition himself. (or not?) It might help if the staff didn't switch these guys around constantly from DE to DT. They foolishly turn our DEs into tweeners. Even droolers should know better.
