who our OC will be. Yea, I know a few days ago Dallas media reported the two Todds were leading candidates for OC & DC. DC is out of play since Zimmer still here but why not officially announce OC. Also what does Parcells see in Sparano that we don't? It also possible we might lose our QB coach to Payton, but don't know if that matters or not. Do realize Parcells might think focusing his time on which of our players we should retain (Glover, Ellis, Keyshawn, Allen just to name a few) might rank more important to him then officially naming OC but we fans just are hungry for Cowboy news. Sure would be nice if they threw us a few tidbits rather then relying on media speculation.

Don't like news Skins might sign Saunders as OC at all. Admit Skins surprised me last season & Greg Williams defense did better then I expected; if they could add good DE pass rusher, they will be very difficult to beat--something we couldn't do last year. Addition of Saunders could have similar effect on their offense (couldn't do any worse then Gibbs), particularly if they can add a WR to complete Moss. If Moss (and Portis?) went to school with Wayne, Skins would have inside track to him if they have cap room.

Why would there be a need for BP to announce himself?

The man's old. He's still struggling remembering what year this is. I know, I know, a day is an eternity. Give the guy a break, though, he's still using an abbacus to figure out the salary cap.

Taking so long.........sheesh.

He probably enjoys watching certain people whine and cry.
That is why he will wait a few weeks. Just to enjoy the show.

Ummm... we didn't even have an "official" Offensive Coordinator last season. So who cares? Sean Payton did most of the OCoord job, but his job title was not "Offensive Coordinator".

"what does Parcells see in Sporano that we don't?"

Well, most likely something due to the fact he works with him everyday and we do not. I would also take into account Parcells tenure in the profession as opposed to ours...

Its only been 24 hours man, RELAX!!!

There is another possibility here that no one seems to have mentioned. Perhaps Parcells is looking at other candidates outside the organization and has not yet decided on who will get the job. Just because some mediot reported that Haley (or is it Bowles...I get them confused) would get the job does not make it so. He may have someone else in mind and could be negotiating a deal with them or he could be interviewing a number of candidates.

I bet nobody on this forum could pick Sparano out of a lineup. We don't even know what he looks like, much less how qualified or not qualified he might be to be an offensive coordinator.

We do know the OL didn't do great last season, but was that his fault? Was it lack of talent? Was it age and injury? Was it our QB? We just don't know.

It really shouldn't be surprising that Parcells has an idea though. If he was loath to let Sparano go then you kinda have to think Bill thinks he's a pretty good coach.

Parcells isn't going outside the organization for an OC. He will promote from within, using the coaches he already trusts who do what he tells them. Then he'll hire guys to replace those guys down the line.

Most of us want a flashy outcome because our offense was so poor last year, but the fact of the matter is that Parcells doesn't do the flashy thing, especially not with coaches.

This offseason will be like the last one....uneventful and painfully quiet until we sign 2-3 players about 2 weeks into the free agency period.

Hopefully we'll be happy with those guys and pave the way to a responsible and effective draft.

We WILL NOT be a SB contender next year unless we're very lucky.

We will hopefully be a legit playoff contender and make it to the postseason. I'm only overly curious about 1 thing: How many years does Parcells get to put us back in the playoffs before his fans give up on him? Does he get unconditional patience due to his championships with the Giants? Or would missing the playoffs again next year start any of the faithful to grumbling? Or will there always be an excuse?

I think we should be able to demand a playoff appearance in year 4, a playoff victory in year 5....minimum.

Well, I was not impressed with his job with the Oline, but since Payton wants him so bad it does give me some consolation. If he was not wanted by Payton, then we should worry even more.

There is no one internally competent to run an NFL offense on this staff. None.

They won't have to be competent. Parcells is going to run it himself like he always has anyway.

This is potentially a disastrous decision if they promote a Todd Bridges or Anthony Soprano to OC.

Horrific.

2 seasons ago we let RCB, FS ruin the season week 1.

Last season we choked at filling FS, RT yet left $5M unspent.

Parcells - wake up and get an offensive mind in here to run our offense. Not some 8 year WR coach or a failed Offensive Line coach.....

Wasn't our offense ranked around number 11 or 12 by the end of the season?

I'm not concluding that our OL isn't a problem, but that seems to be the major problem, IMO. But I guess that's what happens when you lose your All-Pro LT, have a rookie 6th rounder starting at RT, a not entirely healthy RG, and lousy depth.
