Why is the press laying off Manning and his egg-laying?

It's one thing to play reasonably well but lose a big game. It's another thing to choke. That was a choke.

Well it's not as if we Cowboys fans have anything else to talk about this time of year.

To the original point, ol' Peyton definitely deserves to be criticized for this performance. Peyton is showered with all the accolades and praise when they win. You didn't hear anyone mention anything about the team around him when they were winning and setting all these records. But when they lose, you hear all about the team and nothing about Peyton (wow, this really sounds familiar)

Peyton Manning, 5-time MVP, laid a huge egg in the biggest game of the year. He SHOULD receive criticism but he won't because he's Peyton Manning and he has good numbers.

One reason is many in the media picked Denver because of him. They would now have to say we were wrong and didn't count on the other team playing like a team, and not relying on the QB to be the reason for a W.

Manning did choke in that game. On the 4th and 2 play he missed a wide open Welker which would have been a touchdown, he threw a pick six, and he threw another interception. If that was Romo.. I would have ROASTED him as he would have deserved it. With that said, Seattle has a tremendous defense and could potentially do that to any QB in the league. Denver was not prepared for that onslaught and Denver's defense is suspect as hell. When your team is the top scoring team in the NFL, you can't go out there and only put up 8 points.

Manning has been known to choke and that will impact his legacy for sure. With that said, he is one of the greatest QB's of all time, a superbowl MVP, and will be a first ballot hall of famer. All things Romo will never achieve.

Yeah I agree, but if this was Tony it would be an all out assault this morning.

When it matters most, Peyton more times than not, hasn't played up to his great regular season stats.

I don't disagree. But I would attribute last night more to Seattle's defense than him not performing well although he didn't if that makes any sense. I've never paid that much attention to the details of the big games he's played in to criticize him. And last night the Denver team got outplayed in all three phases of the game....badly.

Could you repeat that as we all may have missed how you really feel? In fact why don't you just put a couple of sentences in your sig so we don't have to keep reading the same message over and over in your posts. That way you could just post 'See below' and save time.

I don't know, maybe Manning ought to send Sexy Rexy Grossman a big giant thank you for that one and only ring he has and will ever get. Manning has been one-and-done in the playoffs something like 8 times. Granted his teams have had some atrocious offenses, but the salary cap tends to have that effect when you are paying several players huge money.

Many say Peyton Manning is a classy guy. Although, IIRC there is probably a female asistant, who was at the University of Tenn at the same time, who probably vehemently disagrees.

:)Looking back at the 2012 draft, if the Broncos' GM would have chosen in the 2nd round LB Bobby Wagner instead of DL Derek Wolfe and QB Russell Wilson instead of QB Brock Osweiler then maybe Manning has ring #2. Stupid GM. Idiot GM. What was the GM thinking? How stupid can a GM be? They were no-brainers :)

Right, because people can NEVER change, and any past indiscretion forever brands them as being without character or class.

team effort loss.. dominated in every single aspect of the game. But Manning certainly didn't help the situation either

but we expect a certain QB to always win when all other aspects of team are getting dominated most every game..... why the double the standard?

Not relevant. Even with this loss Manning is the greatest QB of all time, although it can still be argued not many bounded by reason would argue his place amongst the top 5 QBs to ever play the game. Romo will likely not be mentioned among the top 50, that is the difference.

Although as a rant I always see Donovan McNabb listed in top 50 lists, maybe Romo will be one day lol but I believe you'll get the point I'm trying to convey.

Romo is easily top 50 . Go look at the lists .

Because Romo typically falters against much less adversity.

When has Romo been in a super bowl against a defense that dominant?

The last time we saw something similar (09 vs Minny) Romo really wasn't bashed all that much. It was obvious that Minny was just the better team.

Same applies here.

Payton Manning has more skins on the wall than Romo. That gives him some leeway.
Last night was just not the Broncos night. If they play that game 10 times, Denver wins 6 of them.

You're way off . Seattle is a much better team all around Seattle wins 10 out of 10 . They made Denver look like a HS team .
