Why is the press laying off Manning and his egg-laying?

I love threads like this, this is where I shine.

Any person(s) who is trying to compare Romo to Peyton should be not just banned from CZ, but banned from football. Dumbest thread of all time, and subsequent defense of the thread topic.

I hope every poster here realizes that Manning is an elite QB and Romo is not. It makes no sense to compare the two. It never fails that when a QB has a bad game that the Romo lovers use it as a way to justify Romo's blow-ups. It is grasping at straws to find a way to make Romo blameless for the games he has lost with his poor decision making and choking. Keep grasping for goodness sake and keep up the "Romo is a victim" defense. It only makes Romo look worse .

And quick enough feet to escape when necessary. Denver actually did a pretty good job of taking Marshawn out of the game, not sure how many yards he ended up with but I don't think it was much. Seemed Denver decided to key on Lynch and force Wilson to beat them, which he did.

Lynch had some moments but I agree with you. Denver got outplayed.

In essence you said:
  • Archie is a jerk
  • Eli is a jerk
  • Therefore I'm delighted Peyton had a very bad SB day.
But is Peyton also a jerk? Let us know.

Is it requirement that I need to answer that.?

I believe I said somewhere in this thread I don't care for the Manning's.

And its not as much for what they do athletically..

…its their attitudes, postures and pronouncements on the NFL all the time.

Peyton was a sympathetic figure when the Colts let him go and he had his operations.

Me..I hoped he would retire.

Sorry..just don't like him.

And honestly..spare me the if this then that analogies.

Your kids might think its swell but it's sort of pedantic.

Terry Bradshaw had some interesting comments but he was being out-chirped by the rest of the Fox talking heads.

Your whole "hate" for a very nice family is embarassing and small, ... and this comment makes me wonder what is actually going on in your mind since I'm pretty sure Bradshaw was burying his father and was not on the FOX set at all.

That rates right up there.

Even nice guys have haters. It's just part of the job. I have never seen an interview of Peyton's where he was less than classy. Guys like him are rare with a capital R.

you should be the first one banned then. Because your pathetic hatred of Romo borders on the pathological

Seattle lost 3 games this season. That means that their defense was properly schemed against in 3 games. I stick with my original statement that the Broncos would win 6 out of 10 games head to head. And yes. I saw the game.

No they may not.

Is that something I need to be concerned about?

Never knew that was a requirement around here.

Who invented that by-law at the Cowboyszone?

You?

You asked a question, you got an answer.

If you don't like it, don't ask!

It was more of a complete collapse then a collapse by Manning.

The adage returns - defenses win championships, offenses get you there.

That was the end result.

After the safety and first TD by Seattle. He(Peyton) had to find a way to answer those scores. He is that good, he had to and he didn't.

That is on him. He is the OC at the line.

Not doing so allowed Seattle to start pinning there ears back.

Brady on that team answers with a score.

You already have.

You have hated on things Archie and particularly Eli have said and done which were not classy.

Has Peyton behaved like this? You can't find any - he's a class act.

You are just resorting to the guilty by association fallacy to have a irrational, childish rant about him - is that classy?

He came way short in a huge way to win another SB - his best chance.

Peyton's not having an easy time.

I mean..

if this was Romo and he played like this..

..which he has and been blasted unmercifully for just such a collapse.

..but the press is giving Manning a free pass here.

Just wasn't Manning's day?

Oh my..

Free Pass Free Pass.

Not fair. Not fair.

Payton is proving to be a choker.

There, I said it.

I never thought anything posted here could get more overused, tired, ridiculous and irritating than "hater" and "agenda" but "if this was Romo" has done it.

I mean a second SB victory..

like Eli, Brady, Aikman, Steve Young, Staubach, Montana,Rothensberger, and Bart Starr.

People who say Payton is the greatest QB in history are just not educated about the subject.

Johnny Unitas was a better QB than Payton Manning.

Manning just lives in an era where the game is more about aerial circuses.

Unitas called his own plays, was a better audibler and played against some of the toughest teams in the history of the game.

Manning..?

Not so much.

I'm pretty sure Steve Young only won one Super Bowl. It's spelled Peyton by the way and I'm note even sure what you were trying to do with Roethlisberger.

I personally was not surprised by the loss by Peyton, but not to such an extent. I have seen him enough as a Patriots fan and if there is bad weather, or a big game he seems to fold. I am not quite sure why. So while everyone else was thinking the Broncos would win, I did not. Just a bit surprised by the score. Complete shut-down. That I did not expect.

That does not take away from what he has accomplished. It used to scare me when we played during the regular season (when he was in Indy), it was always a close and tough game. But when the chips were down, not so much. It really makes no sense.

Bottom line, Seattle played an awesome game and they should be proud of their team. And with the youth on their team, they will be a force to be dealt with for a while even considering the cap. But it is hard to win a SB, very hard. So who knows?

Does this take away from his legacy, sure. Is he the GOAT, no. Simply because of the folding in games that really are important. Montana is the GOAT in my opinion.

Times are a changing and the "old guard" is changing. New young QB's with lots of talent. And the thoughts of a balanced team as well. Defense and offense and special teams as a balance are the new SB champs next year.

So we have to wait until next year to see where things wind up. Who knows?? But overpaying for a QB at the expense of a balanced team seems like a bad choice. Can you say Flacco. I am not going to get into the Romo contract. But it seems like you over paid. Seems like Seattle has most likely changed the way contracts will be formed in the future. A balanced team.

Next year.
