Seriously it felt like Bernard pierce (haven't looked up the number of carries) was getting more Carrys then RR. Talk about mis managing your best talent :/

Do you think there is some underlying reason why RR is hardly used?

It looked to me like they were splitting RR out quite a bit, which is probably due to the lack of depth at the WR position. In a closer game, Im sure Rice would get a lot more touches, though his lack of carries has been a criticism of the Ravens in the past.

I wouldn't use last night as a good example of how he is generally used unless he goes the rest of the season with that few number of rushes per game. He averages about 20 touches per game, which is about right for a guy his size. He is not a big guy and even though he is muscular he is not really stocky like an Emmitt Smith or Barry Sanders. I would be somewhat concerned that his rushing attempts per game has gone down each of the last 3 straight seasons. If that trend continues then I would say he is a bit underutilized.

He had 20 touches last night, so I'm not sure why you'd consider it a bad example. In a shootout that turned into a blowout, fewer carries and more catches isn't a big surprise.

He generally gets a few more rushing attempts and fewer receptions to get his 20 touches, which is why I don't think last night was representative of what the Ravens normally ask of him. I understand why they had to change it up, which is why it is a bad example. Plus the original post assumed the limited number of rushing attempts was the reason to say Rice is underutilized.

Bernard Pierce kept getting tackled in the backfield yesterday, but he is very good.

I think normally Ray Rice stays plenty busy.
Last night was an odd game by any standards.

Didn't watch the game, (I know, I know) but I disagree, overall I think how they use Rice is the best thing about him. People credit him for being a dual threat back, but to me, any back of his quality can do what he does, with a good set up
