Generally a meniscus tear if non complicated like Jack is a surgery to clean it up or repair and 4-6 weeks rehab, Jack had this and is already lifting, running and weight training as we speak.

Just go to his twitter, he has current training vids as proof.

He will be ready for the combine, the ACl tear you are generally looking at 6-8 months depending on the person and case.

Jack is good to go and thus far his knee has checked out fine according to his camp.

Oh I'm most definitely a jack fan. If there isn't a QB in which they feel is a franchise QB then I want the best player available and to me that's Myles.

If so lets hope hes not made of glass. As great as Lee is, he cant help us if hes on the bench, which is where hes spending a lot of time. Were going to need the greatest defense ever to win with Cassell at QB. Jack and Lee in the middle would help a lot, no doubt. But we still dont have a QB.

I am with you, I want that QB but if they pass and stay put Jack very well may be in the conversation.

I keep seeing where lots of fans are saying this may be the last time we pick in the top five in sometime. With the way this league is its very possible the cowboys could be picking in the top 5 again next year. The browns rams jags and other team have been picking in the top five for the last five years or more. Its not like we are this great top team over the last twenty years.

That's my thinking too. If we pass up on a franchise quarterback to the great consternation of the "draft Wentz, Goff, Lynch" group, then we'll suck at some point because we don't have one ready and waiting in the wings. Which, of course, means that we'll have a terrible record because we have no one behind center, and we'll find ourselves drafting high again.

We're one good hit away from not having Tony Romo. So long as hes healthy, we dont even need a back up. Problem is hes getting fragile and our Oline aint a stone wall yet. He will get hit and could get injured and then what? Then we dont have Romo and were stuck with Cassell or Moore or RGIII or McCoy or Wentz. Which one would you prefer?

Let me begin by saying my strong preference is Wentz or Goff because I don't think we get another chance to draft in the top 5 and get a franchise QB to replace Romo... but I think Jack will be the pick. Having watched his highlights, he is an exceptional athlete and has great instincts and coverage ability in the passing game. In today's NFL, it is a huge advantage to not have to take a LB off the field and go nickel/dime. Jack is a 3 down LB. He is the best cover LB I've seen on tape. He covers better than most DBs and with him on one side of the slot and Scandrick on the other, the middle of the field will be taken care of. While I do not like drafting a LB that high, he is a special player and if you believe in building from the interior out (QB, C, DT, MLB), you can leave Lee at WLB and put him at MLB and just let him run to the ball and cover the middle of the field. If we draft for impact this year, he will be the pick...

I am leaning same way. However, Jack really hasn't been LB that long so there is risk. Will be interesting to see him at Combine. One thing I will say is he better be good blitzer because if Dallas passes on DE at #4 they will need help from other areas.

I expect you to read the ESPN article about Myles and have enough of this discussion

Yep, that knee is falling off, this is Jack last month.

There is a difference from basic recovery and full recovery, Jack is simply using caution, look what he can do already..Lol!

Go here to see him Jumping, cutting and running:

Then why not at the combine? Think. Caution or is he worried about how the knee will react or swell after? You read the article right?

Look, he's very talented but not at #4 . Too many question marks and him not participating just proves it.

The article simply stated a full recovery window and is not specific about Jack in particular but as another poster already informed you, he had a meniscus tear and was healed in short order and even informed you he was not an elite athlete like Jack.

Jack appears to have a non complicated tear recovery and is already training in a way a person with an ACL simply will not be after 5 months.

It really does not surprise me that Jack and his team are being cautious and want more time to work on his speed and explosion if that is an issue.

If the knee was an ACL Jack certainly is not lifting, running and cutting within five months of the surgery, so my comments are right in line with his injury and the video is proof of his actual ability last month and earlier this month.

We will find out at the combine on the medical with the knee, at #4 will be up to the teams that are interested regardless.

I fully expect him to be ready to do the rest on his pro day and if he declines the 40 and such like at that point, then teams will definitely be concerned, especially at #4.

The question is how is the knee after he performs. Is there swelling? If he is already working out and performing these exercises why not at the combine. It isnt logical unless you think something negative could still pop up. You want a clean pick at 4.

I think we've covered our positions pretty well. We just disagree. I respect your position and like the player. It's a shame he got injured and understand the choice not to play another year at UCLA.
