Why our offense has struggled lately

Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are elite quarterbacks.

Mahomes team is 5-4 and Jackson's team is 4-5.

If elite ones do, then how come they don't have better records and are currently fighting to stay in playoff contention?
This really has to be explained to you?

You don't even know what affected that QBR. All you see is...

I get it you can’t admit Dak sucked too. Dak Dak Dak everybody else sucks.

I haven't looked at it closely, but it seems like the offense overall was better with the replacement offensive line players. I have said MANY times since he was drafted that I see nothing in Guyton that suggests he's a good left tackle. They should have benched him last year and started someone else this season.
It's kind of insane thinking about the draft capital we have in the OL and we still need 2 starting tackles.

How come Mahomes can't win when the D give up 21+ points? Why does he get a pass?

How does he consistently gets his pick sixes called back?
What makes you think he does?

He does have super bowl wins...and not just sideline participant.

So *if* he gets any "passes", that might be a coupel reasons.

I think either you are misunderstanding my point or you just want to be a contrarian.

Is it easier to convert on 3rd and 10 or 3rd and 3? If you can’t run to shorten down and distance, you have to find a higher percentage way to replace the run yards elsewhere. A 4 yard pass gets you the same yards as a 4 yard run.

We have no creativity on the short passing game. We don’t use our RB’s well, have slow footed TE’s, have speedsters who we can’t incorporate, etc.

Here are some stats for you.

Dak percentage of YAC yards by year from ‘18-‘25:

48%, 40%, 44%, 45%, 42%, 43%, 47%, 44%
During this time, his completed air yards have only dropped slightly and was the same in ‘24 as it was in ‘18. In other words, Dallas hasn’t adjusted their air yards much since his rookie season.

Mahomes percentage of YAC yards by year from ‘18-‘25:

51%, 48%, 48%, 56%, 54%, 61%, 59%, 50%
During this period, his completed air yards have consistently dropped by a good amount. In other words, they are throwing shorter routes more frequently and YAC yards have increased significantly.

In ‘21, you saw a big drop in Mahomes air yards and a big jump in YAC yards. It so happens that is around the time that 2 high defense usage rates started spiking.

To me, it looks like KC adjusted to a trend. Looking at Dak’s numbers, when would you say Dallas adjusted?
You’re ignoring my point which IS FACT, that if you become a 1 dimensional offense you’re going to lose more often than not.

But Dak sucks too just say it. Another bottom feeder tomorrow so you can go back to the Dak almost NFL record almost MVP then reality will set in Dak will wilt and choke again
Only after you say, "We're lucky to have Dak. Dak is a Top 8 QB!"

I’m not giving anyone a pass. I’m simply making an observation about our offensive scheme…it wasn’t a Dak/Mahomes comparison.

My point was simple. We still need to find a way to stay ahead of the chains, even if the defense takes away our rushing game. IMO, we lack creativity in leveraging the weaknesses of what trending defenses afford.

One way to take advantage of shell coverages is running the ball. If that isn’t working, the other weakness is the short passing game to maintain favorable down and distance.

To me, it’s more of an indictment of our offensive creativity and the utilization of all of our potential weapons.

I’m beginning to think this is a grift.

I’m ignoring nothing. Your point had nothing to do with mine. I’m really not sure why you replied to me in the first place.

If you look at the first 3 words I said in response to your post, they were I DON’T DISAGREE…I ignored nothing. Quite the contrary. I acknowledged it.

I think you are so conditioned to arguments that you see boogeymen behind every post. You have chosen to try to change the context to fit some narrative you seem fixated on.

To be clear, balance is very important…we both agree. But if a team takes away the run, you still need to find a way to stay ahead of the chains.

I know. It is just funny how our fans with DDS love them some Molehill.

Actually he’s about 12, but he’s here a few more years maybe Dallas gets the 85 Beats D and 10 all pro guys on O so he can drive bus.
I hear you. I'm looking forward to our revamped D with Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark manning the interior our our D-line, plus DeMarvion Overshown and Logan Wilson at LB. I believe our front 6 is going to be very good going forward.

I’m looking forward to the rest of the year and improving a lot on D next year. At least it’s entertaining
