Why our offense has struggled lately

I'm not trying to challenge you or say Dak sucks.....but what make him an A QB?

When the chips are down and we reallty need HIM to step up...he does? When we are fighting for our lives not as the last nail is being driven.

Crunch time.

I realize other people need to step up at the same time too...but we're talking Dak here.
Many years of top offenses and right now he has the highest QBR in the league. I’m not saying I think he is the best QB in the league but at some point production has to mean something and he is among the production leaders in the league and has been many times.

Hurts only put up 135 yards last night, averaging just under 200 yards a game. The Eagles are 8-2 and Hurts has a Super Bowl. So at some point winning has to be a conversation larger than the QB.

Well, they are averaging 20.4 in the 5 losses, scoring that many, they should be undefeated. I can't believe the defense can't hold the other teams to less than 20 points. That pisses me off.

Schotty needs to do his job and help make Blue better. It would make Schotty look better as well. Instead, Schotty keeps Blue benched while bragging to the media that he personally like BIG RBs. Obviously, Blue was not a Schottenheimer pick. It was all Jerry. Schotty forgets how a smaller RB was his father's best RB (LaDainian Tomlinson). So far, Schotty is not as smart or as good as his father. He should go back and learn from his father.
Riley coached Deuce in college productively so I have to think the staff knows how to utilize smaller backs. He basically hasn’t played since he fumbled in the red zone. He’ll probably get some time starting this week as we go into this stretch of 3 games in 11 days.

The first six or so games of the season he put us in position, with the exception of the Bears game.

Dak was bouncing the ball off his wrs hands vs Philly for a game winning drive. He got us the go ahead score vs GB. Can't remember who he took the lead against with something like 7 minutes left, and NEVER saw the field again.

All of those "big games" and "good defenses" dont match the narrative that the qb cant get it done.

I truly believe it's not just the stats a QB puts up. Doing certain things at just the right moment...even if only for a few yards...can make all the difference in the world.

I know everyone wants to use Brady or 'homes to prove any given point...but 'homes is a good example of it.

According to AI:

"In the 2025 season, Dak Prescott has a 69.3% completion percentage on passes of 30+ yards. This is based on his performance in the "31+ yards" category, which includes both his attempts and completions, as found on NFL.com and ESPN.

Completion Percentage: 69.3%

Details:

While the specific 2025 stats for passes 30+ yards are hard to find, NFL.com provides a category for "31+ attempts" which has a passer rating of 85.8.

Other sources, like CBS Sports, show that in the "31+ attempt" category, Prescott completed 50.9% of his passes, with 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

However, other sources such as StatMuse report a 69.3% completion percentage for passes of 30+ yards, which aligns with the data from ESPN.

Another StatMuse report shows a 70.3% completion percentage on passes over 30 yards for the season.

Based on multiple sources, his completion percentage on passes 30+ yards in 2025 was approximately 69.3%. "
I know, you keep going to stats. This convo is way past that.

Jaydon Blue did not fumble in the red zone. That was Javonte Williams.

He has had those moments. Jordan talks about all the game winning shots he missed. Even Marino Rivero lost the World Series against the Red Sox. We have been looking to Romo and now Dak to make up for the deficiencies of the rest of the team for almost two decades. At some point we have to accept that QB isn’t the reason we haven’t been successful. Rodgers may be the pure passer since Marino and he only got 1 ring in his whole career and Marino never got one. It’s just not about 1 guy.

Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are elite quarterbacks.

Mahomes team is 5-4 and Jackson's team is 4-5.

If elite ones do, then how come they don't have better records and are currently fighting to stay in playoff contention?
jackson is not elite IMHO. really good. but not elite

LOL...

How many times has Dallas had the "top offense", playing absolute bottom-dweller defenses in the league, only to then "implode". The NFC East has basically been dog poo since Dak has been QB.

This goes back to 2019...

I know...and I am sorry.... i can't possibly go through the entire litany of problems each and every single time I talk about Dak.

Apparently a lot of people don;t want to talk about GB at Dallas...because...Dak has nothing to do with losses.

So what's the conversation based on, personal feelings towards Dak? Stats and AI don't lie.
Stats can be cherry picked and generally are, and AI is notorious for being FUBAR.

The convo is based on analysis. Analysis consists of several things: Stats, Experts, Eyeball. Among others. I never use just one item to evaluate play. And you should know by now that I don't parttake in the Personal Feelings trash. That's for the Dak threads where the people reiterate and misrepresent ad nauseum.

I like Prescott as a QB, don't love him but I like him. His salary is definitely bad for the team.

One of the big problems w/ Dak is that Jerry does him no favors. Jerry doesn't even understand maximizing a players skillset by how you use him and by the players around him. Right now, for instance, Dak desperately misses having a slot WR, the guy who just can't be covered in the seam.

Those are things I have both observed and read. When I watch him play, I've noticed that he's inconsistent throwing long. Downfield, whatever you want to call it. I believe he's a good at the 10-30 yard ropes, and that they underutilize that part of his game. And right now, we desperately need a better short game to open up the mid passing game. Teams don't respect our short game because we don't use it enough.

Jalen Carter wasn't playing against the Eagles and their secondary also dropped 2 picks that were thrown right in their hands with Dak trying to force it to Lamb, on the same drives Lamb dropped passes. They don't mention that part.

And GB was dominating with their mediocre defense, until the blocked field goal. They basically collapsed.

Not sure what you are saying. Did you reply to the wrong comment?

I have a GB post but it was the playoff game couple years ago. You talkin about that?
