Talking about the defense. We can blame the defensive coordinator if you want, but then look at what he is working with. The 3-4 defensive is able to blitz from all over the field. The only problem with that, is you need LBs that are able to cover. Who is our best LBs that can cover? James, Ware, Akin, or Ellis, lol. I say James, then Ware. Ellis is a liablity in coverage. So we mostly have to blitz him. Offenses we play know this, so they know where our blitz is coming from. Are Lbs are big, but I say we are on the slow side. Yes, we can stop the run, but if the Commanders recievers didn't drop the balls, Brunnell would look like a probowler. The middle of the field was wide open. I wish I could ask Parcells, if he was coaching against this team, how would he attack it. My answer would be attack Lbs and Safeties in the passing game.

Benefit of 3-4: Blitz and give offense a different look. We always give the same look - and Ware should never be in coverage. He is our best rusher, don't waste him on not guarding opposing players. We need to go back to 3-4. No movement, nothing new ever.

Our blitzes are so obvious and the end result is always pathetic... whoever is designing the blitzes is flat out terrible. Never any shuffling to confuse the opposing qb, no trickery at all, no mind games. You'd think with Parcells being such a supposed master psychologist and a defensive minded coach that he could screw with the heads of his opponents offenses... Every blitz I see is extremely obvious and you know where everyone is coming before the ball is snapped every time.
