Why so worried about WR?

Is it me or does it seem like we have greater concerns on the OL and at backup NT than WR depth? TO, Glenn, Crayton and Hurd seem fine to me. Actually, that's better than anything we've had a in a very long time. Crayton has great hands and has shown he can play. He was doing very well until his injury last year. I have yet to read anything negative about Hurd and he would likely be a 4th WR at most. Copper and Green are adequate 5th WRs/special teamers. I would rather not see us make yet another bad trade for a WR (only the Glenn trade has been good - numerous others have failed miserably). I just don't see the need.

I had to wonder about this as well. But each of the last couple of years we have been bringing in WR's to see what we can find. We've tried Quincy Morgan (old stone hands), and Peerless Price who just couldn't seem to find his way into the games...but we seem to keep trying. I think BP doesn't trust WR's any more than he trusts QB's...maybe it's a passing game thing.

I agree that O-Line is where we should be concentrating our scouting efforts. We still have a lot of question marks at O-Line.

quality OL will be almost impossible to find this time of year... according to most Cowboy fans our OL is fine, anyway!

Behind Owens and Glenn. You have Crayton with 36 carear catches and then nothing.

Mike Williams and Charles Rogers are competing for one spot in Detriot get one of them.

first, while we continue to hope Crayton has a breakout year eventually, and while we like what Hurd has done in training camp, to think either of them would be a great 3rd WR or could step in as a starter if Glenn or T.O. go down would be a big mistake. You can't rely on guys who have proven nothing in the NFL. Glenn and T.O. are both at an age where they are somewhat fragile, so of course we'd like to add another WR with some experience and success in the NFL.

And unless T.O. is on the field and tearing it up soon, I think we will see a move for a WR. There's too much riding on this season and the way this team has been put together to let it go down the toilet with an injury to T.O. or Glenn.

Okay. So, we can't trust inexperienced WRs--that leaves out Rogers, Williams, and Lelie as well as our own. We don't want WRs over 30--that leaves out Freddie Mitchell and most other people floating around. Who can we get at this time of year (FA or trade) that will be better than Crayton who is not either inexperienced or old???

The silence is deafening!
