Then again, Garrett thought Weeden could serve as the backup. And then the same about Cassell...

I'm not saying Garrett is right. I'm saying he's doing what he believes gives the team the best chance to win.

I do think, however, that JG knows more about his players than anyone here. The downfall of the offense is...the offense. It's the worst design of any offense in the League.

And how has "what he believes" been working so far? In what? 5 plus years? When does his all-encompassing 'process' bear fruit?

On that we can agree, and it brings me to my main criticism of him. All of the 'rah rah,', 'fight, fight, fight!' speeches in the world don't mean a thing if the guy giving the speeches isn't putting those players in the best position to succeed. And as a head coach and as a staff, I don't think they're doing that.

A funny article. He seems to start it with 'don't look for Moore', and then essentially finishes by saying 'give it a week until the season is officially over and then you'll see him.'

And I personally wouldn't worry too much about damaging any message Garrett is trying to send. In all the time he's been here, neither that message, nor his 'process' has helped to establish this team as a winner.

At some point, it's just baseless noise.

I am not so caught upon in the process -- it is actually not a bad philosophy -- as I am in his inability to adapt, use his available resources and grow from changing circumstances. In the end, it's about results. Bill Parcels used to say something about not telling him about the the experience of childbirth, just show him the dang baby....

I don't think anyone here wants the Cowboys to give up. We want them to fight and play their hardest every game... but end up losing.

Based on some comments I've seen here, I don't think that's true of everyone.

I want them to play as hard as they can and whatever ends up being the result of that, so be it.

But again, this is about the team's mind-set. It always has to be play as hard as you can and try to win. Anyone thinking that the mind-set should be or would be any different than that either doesn't play sports or doesn't understand them. Playing Moore at this point is giving up on the season, and Garrett is right not to do that. When Dallas is officially eliminated, then it is time to take a look at some younger players to give them some experience.

Again: I'm not saying that JG is right about the best way for the Cowboys to win. In fact, I strongly disagree with his stubborn conservatism, especially the refusal to ditch his outdated offensive philosophy. My comment was in response to a post stating that Garrett wasn't playing Moore because it would make the FO look bad. In my opinion, it has zero to do with anyone's personnel evaluation ego. When you win, everybody looks good, and whether he's right or not, Garrett is playing Cassell because he thinks he gives the team its best chance for W's.

I view 'the process' as pretty meaningless when there are no tangible results.

I agree with the philosophy, but if the expected results aren't there, it doesn't mean much at all.

OK, I can see that.
