I get fans want to see their team win and the front office to make the best player decisions to place the team in a position to win.

However, why is everyone seemingly afraid of a rebuild situation? Dallas has not won a Super Bowl since 1996!!!! That is 24 years ago since their last Super Bowl appearance.

Many say the team is close and are addiment the team re-sign Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper to whatever contract they need to as they are vital pieces of the offense.

That said, let's look at the 2019-2020 season and see what each player did based on the 1st and 2nd half of the season:

    AMARI COOPER

Games 1-9 (Dallas team record 5-4)

    53 Catches 848 Yards 16 YPC 7 TD's

Games 10-16 (Dallas team record 3-4)

    26 Catches 341 Yards 13.1 YPC 1 TD

    DAK PRESCOTT

Games 1-9 (Dallas team record 5-4)

    218 Comp. 319 Attempts 68.3% Comp. 2,777 Yards 18 TD's 9 INT's

Games 10-16 (Dallas team record 3-4)

    170 Comp. 255 Attempts 66.7% Comp. 2,125 Yards 12 TD's 2 INT's

Neither of these guys stepped up when needed most in the 2nd half of the season so why are people so willing to commit potentially over $51M/annually combined to these guys????

I get a rebuild isn't ideal given the commitments to the offensive line and their getting older each year but sometimes the best thing to do is to rebuild the whole thing rather than throwing money at players who have not done anything to get Dallas back to the Super Bowl.

Dak's numbers are actually pretty good, including those 10-16 games stats.

Pretty much destroys your horribly ill-advised Dak hatred.

'Half' of a 16 game season is 8 games and 8 games.

    You're welcome.

And the year before both stepped up big when the season appeared to be in the toilet and the team won 7 out of their last 8 games. Accordingly, it appears that the second part of a given season is not a definitive judge of what a team or players can do, or will do the next season. All the decision makers with a team can do is make their own judgement on what players bring to the table, and apparently the Cowboy decision makers believe Dak and Cooper can be important elements to winning.

the fear of the unknown BUT If you want to be like the fans groan and moan to NOT BE Mediocre teams like SF had to suffer through 4 straight double digit losing seasons to get super high draft picks and one year the LUCK of having JG go down and they got a key piece to their defense in Bosa because of it..whelp 9-7 and 8-8 is pretty mediocre and one great turnaround toa 3-5 start or we would have had 3 medicroe season in a row with no playoffs.. Hmm you REWARD all these players for Mediocre and somehow the OP is being called a troll?
Dak and AC IMO are a reflection of Garett, blame garett all you want but their play has mimicked mediocrity as JG has, you want to continue on the path by severely overpaying these above average players elite money and Long term deals?Isnt this how we are constantly locked into this circle of average?

So maybe Dak getting FT and traded and letting AC go is our way of truly heading in a new direction to winning a SB more quickly? its not as bad as it sounds, you get high draft picks have this year to build the defense, make the ST relevant , get a Journeymen and a drafted qb like Jhurts, maybe someone higher then a 4th) to start transition who lean heavily on this OLine, Zeke/Pollard not only in the run game but a lot more in the pass game, Gallup coming along pretty well as you add a FA WR for half the cost of AC and a deep draft of WRs ..

im betting 8-8 at worse 7-9 is achievable for half the cost on offense and using resources to build defense and ST etc as well as experience for the QB you drafted actually getting some quality playing time sometime midseason while the journeymen QB holds down the fort...OR give Jhurts the reins early bite the bullet go 4-12 get a super draft pick maybe using a 1 from the dak trade and others to go after Lawerence?Hurts is now a solid backup?

now we take a step back handing a QB like Hurts/Lawerence for one full starting season maybe we are 5-11 and get the last piece to set this off and NFCCG 2022 SB 2023..?????

is that the new blueprint get to a SB with a lessor paid QB and WR or whomever you want on cheaper rookie deals???

If fear guys ,Living through UGLY season or two...

Fans here mock Jerry for making this team relevant every year meaning we never truly suck but never great consistently it at least gives us a chance year in and year out but with middle to lower draft picks and well mediocrity by plan..keep fans interested enough , shot at playoffs but never any more, thats the last 10years, maybe a shocking turnaround is saying NO to Dak, AC, and Jones so we change the PLAN and the process with a new staff to manage it..

Any of us could pick any wide receiver and any quarterback from any team and cherry pick a season where things did not go well, that is just a fact. Cowboys best option is signing both of them as they give us the best option to win and win now. Are there better players out there, are there better ones in the draft, maybe and maybe not but to rely on say two rookies in a QB and WR to win you a championship is a fools errand.

You understate the futility. We haven't advanced past a divisional round playoff game since 1996.....forget the super bowl. Just an appearance in a conference title game would be a leap forward.

    You're losing it, BB.

Getting rid of our 2 biggest offensive stat makers, who are young and in their prime, just to start all over again with unproven rookies who very likely might not work out as good is so foolish. It would destroy the remainder of the team's veterans and waste the time they have left. Your way of thinking would revert this team back to .500 or worse. We got lucky with Dak and Amari turning out so good at such a young age. It's definitely not a guarantee it would happen again if you got rid of them and tried your luck once again with drafted rookies.

This argument can easily be spun around.

why are people so interested in rebuilding? Why do some people think it’s so easy to replace top 10 players at the QB and WR position?

There are those that look at the results and believe the offense wasn’t the primary culprit. Some believe the defense was just as much if not more to blame. Some believe the coaching was an issue and held back the entire team.

The argument goes both ways. Hence the division amongst cowboys fans.
