Why Wade is back, and why the goalline failure may help

(1) If Dallas shows any life during this stretch run, I think Wade will be back. Why? Continuity. Jerry has a Super Bowl at the Deathstar next year and he will want to have the Cowboys in it more than anything in the world. By his own admission, continuity is key in getting that done. A new coaching staff may get a playoff win, but winning a SB is unlikely...

(2) The goalline failure may actually help us because perhaps JG now realizes we cannot get it done without smoke and mirrors. We cannot just line up and beat our opponents - there needs to be creativity and trickery. Perhaps the offensive gameplans will reflect this in the final three games. If so, then we might even have a chance to beat the Saints...

That is all I have to say in my 700th post (which took me nearly 7 years to hit...yay for me...)

The team quit yesterday. Wade is done and he has nobody to blame but himself.

I know this sounds crazy but I think the way he dealt with the media this past week really did something to this teams mental state.

I don't think they quit. They just aren't good enough and our staff can't put them in positions where they can win the matchups. Yelling at reporters and trying to artificially motivate themselves obviously doesn't work.

What this team is missing is the extra push from a quality coaching staff. Most of the schemes we used yesterday, especially on defense on third down were bad. That is supposed to be Phillips' forte.

Wade is done after this year. A blind man can see it.

They played a good game until D Ware got hurt and they just quit.

The only TD we gave up until that point was the Gerald Sensabaugh PI which I thought was ticky tack.

It was a good call. Sensi pushed him and knocked him off stride so he couldn't make a play on the ball.

He didn't even push him he just put his hand on him because the wr was in the way of Sensabaugh making a play on the ball.

Sensabaugh made contact but it wasn't anything that was detriment to the receiver making a play on the ball.

The funny thing is he was in good position to make a play on the ball, he didn't have to push.

Are you serious?

Anyway wade doesn't come back hopefully and JG doesn't get promoted.

And that's the worst part of the whole play.

I agree. The one thing we've seen repeatedly -- win or lose -- is inconsistency: A great block is followed by an awful block; A great catch/run is negated by a penalty; a good defensive play is followed by a poor one. At some point, a good coaching staff is able to establish some consistency with the talent they have which gives a team it's identity. This team has no identity.

Anyone know where to look up our defensive ranking in 3rd and long? (7 yards or more to go) I don't know if I'm being overly critical, but I think our 3rd and short defense is better than our third and long. When we get a team in third and long it just seems like a big play for the offense is ineveitable. It has been our defenses biggest failing this year. IMO

Look no further than the secondary to blame. Phillips threw every blitz he could at them and Rivers still had plenty of open targets. We play too soft and Campo frankly needs to go away. For good this time.

Aw hell no.

Jerry is going to do what he should have done a year ago and flush all of these turd coaches down the drain.

Cant scape goat Stewart and whoever that last special teams coach was any more.

I think we're too busy celebrating good plays to worry about the next one.

They're all about to get canned.

Jerry told them what he wanted over this next month.

Wade didn't treat the situation with any type of urgency and he let the media walk all over him for every sports fan in the world to see.

When you don't have a fighers mentality neither will you're team.

I like Wade but his ho hum attitude just wont work in Dallas. We need butt kickers at all times to have our ultimate success because their is just to many distractions surrounding this franchise and the focus can be lost so easy.

This team has had like 3 years to learn from their mistakes and still haven't. What makes you think this one will be any different then the 7000 other times?

That goal line stop wasn't our OC screwing up anyways it was out o line and HB being *******

With the Super Bowl in Dallas next year, we might actually get some help from the refs, because the NFL would love the money maker of Dallas having a home Super Bowl.

Either that or we'll get ridiculously jobbed in order to purposely keep us out of it.
